They're trying to nail him for a crime that was committed in another country as well that to my knowledge wasn't reported until well after they returned to the UK. So basically they have no physical evidence. It all seems to be heresay.

Don't get wrong. If he did it, burn him. Otherwise they're kicking the can down the road hoping for something. Can we even transfer him? Can he leave the country long term

That's generally a policy choice of what a country decides to prosecute. I don't know UK laws but it's not unconstitutional in the United States.

When it comes to sexual assault, violence against women or children, I think a lot of countries will probably go after you even if you committed it overseas.

I do hope they'll soon make a decision of whether they're going to pursue it or not. Time for them to either prosecute it or let him go on with his life.

I'd argue he's better than Caicedo already and has been doing it for much longer in this league as well. And much like Caicedo playing RB, you could play Rice as a CB if you absolutely needed to. He's done it before.

Will agree we definitely paid the over for him though. Guess thats the cost of buying a club's Captain and talisman + English tax

Maybe not but he has shown strong potential when given a shot. Could see a scenario where he and Martinelli rotate on the left, Saka and a new left-footed wing rotate on the right and Trossard is used as a W, AM, F9 rotation/super-sub.

Cheaper than finding a replacement in a summer you're already spending a ton of money.

Most likely he is sold in 2 years, but can contribute in the mean time.

He was out of contract and could have left on a free. Now he has value. Pretty savvy on Arsenal's part, no idea why Reiss would sign it though.

Good all around, $25 is a good fee and Xhaka gets one more long term deal to presumably finish out his career

Seeing claims that our next target this window will be a backup/rotation for Saka.

Feeling like the target needs to be a burner to go along with our playmaker (Saka) on the right. That would give us a burner (Martinelli) and playmaker (Nelson/Trossard) on each side giving us options.

Also, 25m for Xhaka is brilliant business, especially when you consider the last offer (Roma) we received was in the neighborhood of 10-12m. Hate to see him leave but I can't blame him given the 5yr deal.

There were times I posted on here that I never wanted to see Xhaka in an Arsenal kit again. Now I own a kit with his name on it and really hate seeing him go. Great redemption arc for what seems to be a great guy. Happy trails, young Schweinsteiger.

I don't know the answer to whether it would work, but I think Jorginho, Zinchenko, and Timber would probably all play in that spot before Ben White were to be given a chance.
