Looks like Potter is the new manager for Chelsea.

I'm on board with this and thankful it's quick and not drawn out.

Potter with Brighton basically plays a 3-5-2 formation with 3 defenders, 2 wingbacks, 3 central midfielders, and 2 forwards, or maybe one of the central players also plays like forward as well in a 3-4-3 which is pretty similar to what Tuchel did. There's two kind of standard defensive center backs, a central holding midfielder who's job it is to drop deep and help build out of the back, a wide center back who is usually someone who is better on the ball and gets forward and wider more and is able to play longer passes. A striker who can hold up and pass the ball, usually with a more pressing type defensive forward, and two attacking wingbacks. He's going to have a lot of the same problems that Tuchel did, at least for this first phase. Theoretically he's taking over a team doing many of the same things he's already doing at Brighton but with way more talent, but there is still no attacking playmaker on the squad list and no forward who can hold the ball up and lay it off for chances

If they only had Lukaku still. Maybe Borja can be the CF as I don't believe Havertz is really a forward. He may be the attacking playmaker though. Sterling fits in well as the 2nd forward.

I don't think Chillwell fits as a wing back and I bet Cucurella starts as left wingback since Potter is very familiar with him.

Damn, Brighton made some serious $$$ of Chelsea in a short amount of time.

I'm excited for Pulisic, glad to see Tuchel go. Hopefully, Christian gets a boost from this and starts getting minutes and producing.

Your new gaffer will probably get a couple of weeks before the first match since rumor is they'll cancel this week and next weeks matches.

I thought we looked more lively today, but still lacked finish. The amount of passes we put behind runners is annoying. The entire build up slows down because we can't hit a runner in stride.

I think I said out loud in my office "82 minute and Gallagher and Ziyech are your answer?!?! We're definitely losing this match." Now Ziyech did end up with a couple chances but still.

My cynicism grows with every match.

I'd say CP made the most of his minutes today. Bravo.

Ugh, bad news for Chelsea (potentially good news for the USA, I guess). Reece James possibly tore knee ligaments on Tuesday.

That's the kind of match we really could have used 3 points from. A point on the road isn't horrible though.

Pulisic with a second straight good appearance. Was very lively and created multiple chances in his 30 or so minutes.

Love that Pulisic has gotten back to back starts. He's played well and created chances. He reels people in and forces them to foul him, but sometimes wish he'd play around them more and stay on his feet.

Overall this squad is still a bit all over the place though. A bit scared of Man City this week.

I didn't get a chance to watch this weekend but I saw some highlights of Mudryk from his time in the game and he looks special. He had a couple of opportunities that he missed on but I'm chalking that up to nerves. He's fast, great handle on the ball, nice passes and vision as well. I'm hoping for a significantly different outcome when they play Fulham again on 2/3. In addition to paying top dollar for the club Boehly has proven they are willing to spend money on the roster, I hope these guys fit with Potter's system. A top 4 finish feels highly unlikely but they can move up the board.

Pulisic actually looks more amazing every game he's out because no other wide attacking player does **** in this team.

I've read that Pulisic is the only one that missed GSOs.

On the plus side, Fernandez looked great today. Think he will come to fully justify his price tag.
