For me, Halldorsdottir has already become our best all-around player. Watt gets a lot of the attention because of her goal scoring ability, but Iceland is leaving the greatest impact on each match.

First, congratulations to the players and coaches on a solid win!

I agree with you, She is a ball hawk, and I only seldom see her lose a 1v1 possession battle. She expertly uses her body both offensively and defensively, is an amazing complement to Watt, and is serious scoring threat herself.

Great to have her on the Team.

Both our opponents this weekend saw that we were averaging over three goals a game and were determined not to let that happen to them no matter how much offense they had to give up. I continue to be impressed by Addie McCain; she had some really good runs into the offensive third. Rheagen got her first start tonight so good for her. Interesting how the keeper seemed to freeze on Ally's goal.

Nice game tonight, except our entire team, especially our forwards, were extremely inefficient in converting chances into goals.

I thought the team would be better with Iceland at attacking center mid, and she is certainly fine in that position, but after seeing her there for 2/3 of the game, and seeing her back up front for the final 1/4, I now have my doubts. Unless the Ally-Rheagen team learn to pass and work together better, I think the team may play better with Iceland at forward. She makes Ally much better, so moving her to center mid may be giving up too much up front. Iceland also looks more comfortable up front. I know, only one game, and players can grow into positions, so I expect experimentation will continue a bit, but I think we missed something in the attacking third tonight.

And speaking of missing, we certainly missed on any number of shots, including several 1 v 1 opportunities with their keeper. We missed high, we missed wide, and we hit others right at their keeper. Their keeper made a number of saves but none that stood out as highlight film material, and one non-save that turned into an own goal. I'd say we excelled at wasting our scoring opportunities.

Since I called her out after last game, I will say that Jordan -- and the rest of the backs -- had a much better passing game tonight, with very few errant passes in our defensive third. Jordan has an amazing vertical leap on headers, and she showed her 1v1 defensive skills on several occasions tonight.

Kate had significant minutes in the second half and demonstrated the good passing and calming play of an upper classman.

I couldn't agree more! Addie played well and really showed her athleticism tonight. I look forward to watching her development this season. She's gonna grow to be a serious threat, I bet.

A&M dominated the game but missed a lot of easy chances in front of goal. This was a 5-0 type game but ended up only 2-0 with an own goal as well. Have to finish those chances, and we have done so for the most part this season. Need to convert them against SEC opponents though. We've been pretty tough on Jordan Hill but she played well tonight and only had maybe one errant pass. Asdis is really playing well. Smith will be a great player once she learns to play with a bit more touch on the ball. Missed Bates tonight in the middle to stretch the defense even more and create more space.

Pretty amazing to think that A&M hasn't lost a game in over a year now.

Agree on Iceland, great addition this year. One thing I've noticed on Watt, she has yet to add passing to her repertoire. She has the speed, is reasonably good at holding the ball with the defender at her back, unselfish on the cross, and has made some terrific goals. I also love the way she tracks back, at a full sprint if necessary, to help on defense. Some of the long shots may be frustration with the attack bogging down and not creating chances. And the hard shots way over the crossbar are a disease shared by the whole team. But the passing is a mystery, she seems to have difficulty in direction and pace with even routine stuff. Anyone else notice that?

Sorry I'm way late, but...

Katelyn Briguglio started
She talked back to us during the game
She admitted to us that her team sucked
She scored on herself

I love soccer

Yeah, sorry on that one. She started the season, but they'd gone to Vigen recently.

Those are good times when the players respond. I remember one of our guys telling a player her braids looked awful once. She responded and said "I know! My teammate did them." It was always nice to get a laugh.

After coming off the field, their goalie told us we were hilarious. That was the first player reaction I had received up until that point.

I agree about Halidorsdottir but Addie McCain is REALLY coming on in the midfield also, she was dominant in this game. Hoping she will continue to improve and pick up some of the slack left by the loss of Miki and Mahlerbe. I visited with Emily briefly after the game and she said sitting out was PURELY precautionary, she could have gone is she needed to. I sat in the endzone 2nd half and you guys did a good job giving the Goalie heck! I was the old guy in the Maroon A&M shirt! Good bull! #BTHOswampkitties

That is frustrating, and it happened to me multiple times. I finally overcame it by re-starting the game feed every time the video froze. Pain in the neck but didn't miss much action.
