I love 3 day weekends.

4 day weekends are nice, but not when they are caused by wildfires.

The entire state is on fire. This is so bad.

Glad to see you posted jeffk. Driving back from CS I thought that fire looked too close to where you live.

This is the worst time for me to be sick

We've been out of school for two days now. Evacuees still housed in our HS cafeteria. But the fire is 80% contained as of this morning. Today will be pretty critical to see if they can reign it in or if the afternoon winds spark it up again.

As of last night, 70+ homes had been destroyed in our town's area (still about 20 miles away from my house, but too close to a lot of people I know) and over 7000 acres burned. Keep praying for our area and the rest of the state - that Bastrop fire is about 100x worse than ours. A friend of ours from A&M heard yesterday that their parent's home in Bastrop was a total loss.

Back in school yet?

Nope. We're just going to pretend this whole week didn't happen. I've been very productive though.

Hope everything gets back to normal for y'all. We had a few clients lose their homes in Bastrop County.

My wife will be at your HS tonight distributing masks to combat smoke inhalation.

There was a random bull on our football field this morning. He escaped from the wildfires and found the only green grass around. Chased him off with the football players, but he came back tonight during the second half of our game. Thankfully, the gate was locked.
