In 2006, Ronaldinho was all the hype heading into the World Cup Finals. Who will be considered the best in the world for the '10 Cup? Pele was on record as saying Ronaldinho was possibly even the best ever. Will we be able to apply this tag to him, or anyone, in '10?

Just give him 2 more years under Wenger.

C. Ronaldo. He'll set himself up nicely if Portugal does well this summer and ManU wins the Champions League.

I think Pele (as great as he was) spoke to soon when he said that about Ronaldinho as I think C. Ronaldo has surpassed him as a player but I also think Cristiano is peaking too early. The WC is still 2 years away, alot can happen in that time. Personally, I hope it will be someone that is just a blip on everybody's radar right now, infuse some new excitement into the game with a new name.

C Ronaldo hasn't peaked. He can still get much better. He just has to avoid the same traps that Ronaldinho fell into. Clubs, women, laziness, etc.. If C Ronaldo can win the Champions League with Man U and get to the finals with Portugal at Euro 2008, then we should start talking about if he is one of the best ever.

C Ronaldo hasn't yet shown much in international competition, hence why I'm really curious to see him at Euro 08. Definitely too early to tell about 2010, I'm hoping we see some new stars pop up at Euro.

Christianaldo will most likely be the best player in 2010. Someone will out-perform him in the tournament, but he will be regarded by the majority as the best player in the world by then.

Some names that maybe big by then:
Pato
Aguero
Dos Santos (I hope not)
Nani
Anderson
Babel
Benzema

I think alot of these guys fall under the "they are really skilled they just need experience" category

Some guys that are C. Ronaldo's age that could surpass him with amazing seasons:

Fabregas
Messi

Kaka will still be great. No reason to think he'll fall off in just two years.

C. Ronaldo, didn't see anyone mention Cesc Fabregas though, I think he's right under Ronaldo in world rankings right now. And defintly Anderson.
