The Museum of the American G.I. located in College Station is offering the following truck for sale.
1937 Marmon Herrington Doreen's Husky Pup (aka Little Big Foot)
The truck being offered here is the one and only Doreen's Husky Pup (aka Little Bigfoot) from the former collection of Don Chew. This 1937 C5A is a re-creation of the rare prototype vehicle M-H used to display what the company could produce for the US Army on a 1937 chassis. (The original truck upon which this truck was re-created was stolen by the German Army while it was being shown in Belgium and Holland to solicit foreign sales.) This Ford sits on a 2-ton chassis and powered by the original 85hp flat-head V8. It features a 4-speed manual transmission and a trademark 4X4 M-H suspension. The Goodyear Military tires are still present and are in great condition. This re-creation was competed circa 2012, but still presents extremely well. The successive owners have taken care and great pride in preserving this piece of automotive history. It has only seen about 175 miles of asphalt since completion and has always been garage kept.
The truck currently has a Texas title. Runs great, with no powertrain leaks. Needs a little brake work.
Additional information may be found in the December 2024 edition of Military Traders & Vehicles magazine.
More photos and details upon request. No trade offers please. $45,000 firm.
