Howdy Ags.
I recently upgraded my patio with an outdoor kitchen, which included me upgrading to an XL BGE. That leaves me with a 10 year old Large BGE that I'm looking to offload to an aspiring griller who's willing to haul it away and possibly invest in new parts.
To be blunt, this egg is used. It's survived a lot, including falling over when I didn't set the brakes on the nest when a storm came through, but is still capable of producing some damn good barbecue. The price is $250 because you'll need to spend more than $250 to refurbish it, which is optional, but I'm also just hoping to do somebody a solid if they want to try their hand at grilling.

The price is $250 because you'll need to spend more than $250 to refurbish it, which is optional, but I'm also just hoping to do somebody a solid if they want to try their hand at grilling.
Your $250 buys you:
- A Large BGE, (half full with lump charcoal!)
- A Large deflEGGtor for indirect grilling ($89 at ACE)
- A Large Ceramic Firebox ($169 at ACE)
- A Large BGE Ceramic Fire Ring (split in three pieces during the aforementioned fall; $139 at ACE)
- A Large Nest with wheels that no longer turn without giving it a little oomph. ($209 at ACE)
- A Large BGE Grill Grate ($26 at ACE)
Suggested upgrades:
- Felt around the rims of top and bottom opening
- Springs and Band Kit ($209 at ACE); The WILL NOT stay open on its own without this. I currently use the Ash Scraper-Outer tool to prop open the lid when needed.
- New wheels/casters for the nest.
- Iron Regulator Vent Cap ($69 at ACE). This fell off during my last cook, RIP. This is required to maintain temperature.
This egg can handle:
- One medium-ish brisket, large would require folding the edges up at the start of the cook.
- Four beer can chickens
- 10ish ribeyes, maybe more.
- Like 40, maybe fiddy hot dog weiners
- A family of four, or a gathering of up to 10ish people.
