I've sold Intel NUCs in the past and fellow Ags have used them for home workstations, media centers, streaming cycling/workout apps, lite gaming, Linux workstations/servers, etc.

These have Windows 11 Pro ver. 23H2 installed but you will need to provide your own license key or you can install a Linux OS of your choice.

I'd add a good surge protector from APC, Tripp Lite, etc. With those and Wifi you'd be good to go.

Will the motherboard support a larger ssd or upgraded ram?

These should accept two 16GB DDR4 SODIMMS for 32 G total and its a standard M2 SSD slot so 2-4Tb depending on your wallet. The other M slot typically has the Wifi card in it.

dubi, UmustBKidding is correct on the 2 memory slots, 32GB Max memory size. From Intel: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/126147/intel-nuc-kit-nuc8i5bek/specifications.html

Intel doesn't list max drive storage for the M.2 SSD slot. I've installed a 1TB M.2 drive on a NUC8 and the BIOS recognized it.

I think these shipped with AC only but think you can get a ax200ngw to do 6e that will work. Think killer wifi gets about $30. But requires a or e key slot dont remember that nuc model config.

Correct, UmustBKidding, the NUC8 shipped with the Intel Wireless-AC 9560.
