Price: $415 shipped or $400 local pickup in Dallas or in C.S. the weekend of the SC game.

Bought from RadarBusters for $569 on 7/31/19. Been installed in my daily driver since the second weekend in August. Box, instructions and all accessories included.

Perfect condition. Works as advertised, never dropped or anything like that. The reviews are all correct, maximum range, but a few more of the BSM falses punch through than with the Escorts.

I cannot IM, so if you are interested please e-mail at:

no spaces and @ .com instead of at dotcom

Thanks for looking,

I wish it were quieter as far as the filtering. That is the trade-off with the R7 versus the Escort. The R7 has better maximum range, but the filtering isn't as effective, so you get more false alerts.

I knew this when I purchased it, and thought I was willing to make that tradeoff becasue I was a long time Valentine V1 user, so I have always dealt with more false alerts to get max range and the arrows.

The R7 is significantly quieter than the V1 ever was. It does do pretty well with most BSM, and the Quiet Ride feature is awesome in the city. But, it is still more chatty than the Escorts.

I'm sure the filtering will get better with additional firmware releases, and when they add the GPS auto-lockouts it will probably be significantly quieter once it learns the false locations.

But the Sheriff's Dept that patrols my route to work uses K band, so I have to have K band turned on, and that is where all the false alerts are.

Good deal here. I have the R7 and love it. Their newer update has helped keep it quieter and there are rumors of GPS locks coming but don't know when.

Figured out that "Advanced" mode is quieter than Highway mode this week.

Bump to stay on pg 1.

Bump to stay on the first page. I think this is a fair price, but I will consider reasonable offers if you think my price is too high.

Did you own an R3 before the R7? If so, do you think the arrows are worth the $200 difference between the R3 and R7? I have two R3's and they are fantastic....I'm thinking about buying a third one for the last vehicle....but would consider the R7 if the arrows are particularly helpful in practice and worth the extra $200. Your opinion would be meaningful to me. Thanks.

Once you use arrows you can never go back. It's why I stayed with my V1 for so long even after it was just a noisy arrow machine.

Arrows and bogey counters together like the R7 has is even better than the V1 ever was, because there are display options on the R7 that show the arrows for multiple signals.

I never had an R3. I actually just put my V1 in a box for a year and a half and drove unprotected because the thought of going back to a detector without arrows was just ridiculous, I wouldn't even consider it.

I kept wishing they would add arrows to the R3, and when they did I bought it.

I could go on and on about arrows, completely removed from my desire to sell my R7. If you buy any brand with arrows you will sell your other R3s and just move detectors between cars. The arrows tell you if it is a cop up ahead just over the rise, or a cop behind you on the same road that is closing on you, etc.

I cannot imagine paying even $100 for an R3, it isn't worth it to someone who has lived with arrows. There is no going back.

If you can force yourself to slow down every time KA goes off, then maybe you don't need arrows. Just always slow down when your R3 signals, and don't care where it is. But then how do you know it's safe to speed back up? That cop coming from behind on the same road is the nightmare scenario, the detector is signaling and you're scanning ahead and all around looking and not seeing him, until he appears behind you emerging from traffic and you are caught. The arrows and strength meter together make you aware of that scenario before he sees you.

Yes $200 seems like a lot for arrows. I was really hoping it would only be 100-150 when they released pricing, but it is absolutely worth it.

Get something with arrows, you will love them. If you are going to spend $300 - $400 on a detector to get maximum range, you need to pony up and pay for arrows. Otherwise just buy something cheaper than the R3.

I bought an R7 over the Escort because the R7 has bigger, easier to see arrows. I don't like the tiny arrows on the Escorts. I want the arrow to be the main focus, not some tiny little thing off the screen.

But I find myself reaching for the mute button too often on my R7, and that is like deja vu with my V1. I pulled the V1 out of my car when my remote display's mute button broke. I couldn't stand reaching for the mute button anymore.

So, the R7 has brought back too many of those memories/behaviors for me, and I'm afraid I'm just going to mute the R7 and drive into a trap.

That's my personal problem because it is a behavior I learned with my noisy V1.

The R7 filtering is supposed to be better than the R3 filtering, so you should not have a problem with this.

I live in fairly rural environment....so I don't have to many problems with false signals on the KA. I get a K and I simply look for a caddy or a Honda. If I don't see one, then I start monitoring the strength of the signal. The range is so great that I usually get a signal long before I need to do much...and then if it gets stronger, I can start taking action. Of course the occasional laser always makes me almost have a wreck getting slowed down.

When I go to the big city, I just ignore the K band. There are a couple of small towns around me that still use them...but you learn those pretty quickly.

I have a buddy with a pretty nice Porsche and he can't believe the effectiveness of the Uniden's over his escort. I think your unit is fairly priced.....would just take someone one missed ticket to easily justify the full cost of it.
