Once you use arrows you can never go back. It's why I stayed with my V1 for so long even after it was just a noisy arrow machine.
Arrows and bogey counters together like the R7 has is even better than the V1 ever was, because there are display options on the R7 that show the arrows for multiple signals.
I never had an R3. I actually just put my V1 in a box for a year and a half and drove unprotected because the thought of going back to a detector without arrows was just ridiculous, I wouldn't even consider it.
I kept wishing they would add arrows to the R3, and when they did I bought it.
I could go on and on about arrows, completely removed from my desire to sell my R7. If you buy any brand with arrows you will sell your other R3s and just move detectors between cars. The arrows tell you if it is a cop up ahead just over the rise, or a cop behind you on the same road that is closing on you, etc.
I cannot imagine paying even $100 for an R3, it isn't worth it to someone who has lived with arrows. There is no going back.
If you can force yourself to slow down every time KA goes off, then maybe you don't need arrows. Just always slow down when your R3 signals, and don't care where it is. But then how do you know it's safe to speed back up? That cop coming from behind on the same road is the nightmare scenario, the detector is signaling and you're scanning ahead and all around looking and not seeing him, until he appears behind you emerging from traffic and you are caught. The arrows and strength meter together make you aware of that scenario before he sees you.
Yes $200 seems like a lot for arrows. I was really hoping it would only be 100-150 when they released pricing, but it is absolutely worth it.
