You can also get a license/permit to distill ethanol for FUEL on a "home distiller" scale, at little to no cost. That's all that would be reasonable for the 2.5 gal still in this thread.)

Right. I get that. But how exactly do you get into it? Hobby distilling for consumption is illegal. So you would have to get licensed having never done any distilling before. Unless you had previously worked for the Samuels family at a high enough level to learn the ropes.

The only way to get into it unless you're going for a full commercial license is illegally, at least in Texas.
