I'm not obsessed about it. Very, very rarely do you find any sort of game used A&M memorabilia online. This is certainly the oldest piece I've seen.

It's pretty friggin' cool.....if it was 1938 or 1940 it would be just as friggin' cool.

I cannot confirm the date of this photo as 1939 but it appears to be an authentic jersey from that period. This unidentified individual is from the TAMU Archives.



Photo below, a number 62 jersey is located in the middle of the sixth row from the bottom. Features of the person in photo below seem to be the same as in the photo above. If you have good eyes you may be able to find the name in the roster.

If bidding is under 1500 near the end, I just might see if I can rob it and donate it to the Ag museum in the Zone....assuming they don't already have this piece of memorabilia.

I inherited my grandfathers WW1 helemt, the one that he likely wore when he wrote the War Hymn. I collect Aggie memorabilia, especially War Hymn items, and I haphazardly considered listing it on ebay for a moment or 2, but decided that the best place for it was at A&M, so it is now displayed prominitely in the Sanders Museum on campus.

I received a phone call from a historian at A&M a few months ago. Seemed that a writer interviwed my grandfather in the 70's and he was shown the original Aggie War Hymn that my grandfather had apparently kept for all those years in a foot locker. He was curious if I had ever seen or heard of it. I had not. If true, it probably got thrown away or sold when my father sold the estate after my grandparents died. I heard he sold a bunch of my grandfather's stuff in an estate sale.

Stuff like this is priceless. Personally, I have mixed emotions about seeing this item. I'd love to own it, but at the same time, I hate that it will likely deprive a family member of a great momento of a part of their family history.

This will be way cool if it is authentic, but I think I'd do a little more research.
