I like Jackie and thank him for his service, but he has had recruiting violations surrounding his program everywhere he has coached.

One thing that Fran has done is cleaned up the program, and we have a lot of good kids playing for us. I wouldn't sacrifice that for winning.

Now, I want a coach that can do both, but having a clean program is more important that wins for me.

did some of you not see how bad Miss St was when he left? the game passed him by. simple as that.

we have a lot of good kids playing for us. I wouldn't sacrifice that for winning.

Nice Kids? Not neccesarily. Kids of good character and represent the school that I love with integrity and class, that are just as likely to get a degree as get drafted? ABSOLUTELY.

Now, that being said, I believe that these things are not mutually exclusive. Fran does a good job of recruting good athletes with good character. The problem is that he has not been able to translate that on the field. There are coaches out there that can do both.

To frame it for you, the thing that I ahve been MOST ashamed about this program since Fran ahs been here is NOT 4-8, 77-0 or crappy bowl appearances. The rash of arrests that we had during the first couple of years was the most embarrassing thing, and I am glad Fran cleaned that part of it up.

I would loathe having tu's program at the moment, even with the MNC.

I don't think Jackie is past his prime. Even if he is, all he needs are bright, in-their-prime asst. coaches and coordinators. Jackie would bring a lot to the table, even today. I would still prefer a Davie or Kubiak - definitely someone with Aggie ties.

he was just back here last week getting inducted into the hall of fame. I think he could go back. I don't think he's too old either.

Whatever. I never said that I wanted this. I want Fran gone too. What I said several times was that I am not willing to sacrifice a clean program for wins. There are a lot of coaches out there that have both.

Do any of you know why Mississippi State was on probation for four years after Jackie left?

MSU was on probation because they were under the selective microscope of the NCAA after Jackie won the SEC. Fat **** Phil at UT probably cried about Jackie just like he cried about Alabama, and the NCAA turned a blind eye to Fat **** Phil and came down on everyone else.

Jackie sucks... geeze get over the past coaches...

No wonder we suck so bad.. A&M is full of people who just want to stick with the same old routine while the rest of college athletics focuses on new schemes and ideas....
