I'm a bit confused. I've seen several topics in which these guys feel they have input, yet act like they are not obsessed with us. Can someone give me some insight here?

Impressive. That’s a pretty big word…pithy. However, it only stresses the point more. If these guys find any of our comments “pithy” (aka. curt or brusque for the Raiders who didn’t take 6th grade English), why would they even grace us with their presence? I understand that it must be in their nature to try and be witty, but that’s my point. Why? I guess the class clown had to go somewhere. I’m simply not impressed with the fact that their primary objective is to try and be a complete jerk. On the other hand, you can find some Horns (very few, though) on this site that are reasonable competitors and have good input. Raiders are simply disgusted with the fact that they couldn’t cut it in Aggieland and got shipped off to where the wind smells of cow manure and the collective IQ doesn’t exceed the average temperature in January.
I would like to thank all of you, though. You make all of this much more exciting. I must say, though, that I’m glad my little brother quit tceh after his first class and came to his senses. He’s a Longhorn now, but I can definitely handle that decision.

Never understood why people from other schools come on our site. Especially our football board in May? I go to A&M, I'm only interested in Aggie news, I could give two sheets about any other Big 12 school.

I've never even been to a Tceh board, much less posted on one. The Tards who come on here and take the time to create an account, troll the site and then defend Tceh's "honor" by posting on any thread that mentions them are just pathetic.

The reason Techsters are so enthralled with this website is that they are envious of A&M. They know that there is not a single academic program offered by both schools where Tech's is ranked higher than A&M's. Most of them applied to A&M and would have attended had they been accepted. They applied to Tech as a backup plan. Up East, they have a name for such a school: a "safety school." Given the behavior of some Techsters, perhaps we should refer to it as a "safety pin school."

I have read this board for about 8 months now. I heard about it right before the A&M/ Tech game last September, and just started reading it to get a take on what other football fans are talking about. I must say that game at Kyle Field was an amazing experience. Some things were simply unbelievable- and I'll leave it at that.

A little background-
1.I hate Texas more than any school on the planet, thus, we have one degree of commonality.

2.At my job in high school, my boss was an aggie(class of 62 or 63, I believe)His wife was an OU grad. He became a mentor of sorts, and we talked alot about what it meant to be an Aggie in those days in the Corps, and most importantly how bad Texas sucks. Do you detect a trend yet?

3. I went to Tech, while also serving in the Marine Corps, so there is a natural curiosity about the Corps of Cadets, as well. I'm still wondering about a few things on that subject.

4. I work in an area just east of B-CS, so I have an interest in what football fans of the biggest program in the area are thinking.

5. In my wife's family, about 1/2 of the folks that went to college went to A&M, and the majority of other half went to Tech. Let's just say there is a wee little bit of interest in what the "other side" is doing.

6. I must say when I'm having a bad day, I can almost bank on the likelyhood that something on here is going to make me laugh.

7. many of the replies to this thread talk about the "envy of Aggie" or "settling for the lowest school." guess what, I have worked with folks from both schools that I admired tremendously, and some that I wondered how much it cost them for their degree. I don't envy A&M one iota, in fact I question alot of the mindset of the "tradition" and "if you're not one of us, you wouldn't understand." That is where the accusations of "cult" and "backwoods" come in. in all honesty, it doesn't matter where your degree is from, I've had aggies tell me they really liked working for me.

8. Some would say Tech is the 3rd "brother" as far as schools go in Texas- although some would probably say we're just the [censored] brother. Any way, I am the 3rd of 3 boys in my family. guess what, ever since we started comparing report cards, bench maxes, athletic accolades, ect; I have wanted to beat them in everything I do, thus a rivalry is born, but it is a positive one. I have never wanted to be my brothers, just to beat them. it doesn't mean i don't respect or admire them, but I am happy doing my own thing.- same goes for Tech. trust me, after what I witnessed at Kyle Field( and I don't mean on the playing field) I am firmly convinced that not going to A&M was one of the best decisions ever made in my life.

9. Accusing Tech of being obsessed with Aggie, when there are copious amounts of your board dedicated to subjects such as "Who do you want to beat more- OU or Tech?" or " Why can't Fran beat Tech when we have more talent" is just blatantly false. You might find Aggie jokes or something on a Red Raider board, but that's about it. Aggiefan has a complex about why everyone is laughing at them. i guess you have to be on the outside to get it.

10. looking at another school/ fanbase's message board could lead to understanding of another mindset, which would be very helpful for some on here. This would alleviate much of the "Ostrich head in the sand" syndrome that exists in aggieland, but, rather, it is impuned as being jealous or stupid. Yep, y'all are right, everyone else is wrong. one could never learn anything by looking at what the opposition is doing. I look at hornsfan.com, OU boards, and as much other football as I have time for. It doesn't mean I want to be those fans- I just want to hear what they're saying.

Texags is a great site. I especially like the "Favorite Aggie pictures" thread. there is a lot of good discussion on here. Y'all can make fun of our degrees/ IQ and such, whatever helps you sleep at night. I see this behavior as being an elitist, just like a sip. Y'all are doing exactly what you accuse TU fans of doing. It's more than ironic to me, that fans as "classy" and "traditional" as Aggies would resort to these antics so that they may feel better about who they are.

For the good Aggies- here's to competing well against each other.

For those who want to degrade Tech- why didn't you just go to texas, you'd fit in great there.

Maybe all that you say is true torch. Still I would not go on tech's board or any other board to defend A&M because I do not feel the need to do so. Nor do I have the time. But, whatever floats your boat.

i don't feel the need to defend Tech. scoreboard is finite enough for me.

as far as the Big XII championships go, OK one tourney championship in a sport that matters. In the money sports, we went 3-0 against A&M, my heart is broken...

What i find really ironic is going down through the other topics on the board and Tech is in the travel thread, brought up by Aggies. Yet, we're accused of being obsessed with A&M?

The only thing that makes me think about A&M is how y'all don't just kick the dog-snot out of us consistently, unless you want to count women's soccer or something...

Otherwise, I come on here just like any other football board, to see what people are saying. Nothing more, nothing less. I haven't posted for 8 months. for some reason, i felt compelled to address this misconception about Tech.

Slerch, Slich, Sloch, whatever your username is, there are no misconceptions of tech here. The simple fact is tech is a horrible academic institution, with no football history. Tech is a nice school if you can't get into to A&M, Rice, tu, Sam Houston, or SFA. You can win 10 in a row against us and it won't make up for 640 all time wins, 2 National Titles, 20 Conference Titles, and a Heisman Trophy winner. Hopefully your children can attend A&M, atleast we can all pray for that.

For a school like texas tech, absolutely! I have family memebrs that have gone and still go to texas tech. They despise all things A&M. One of my cousins, who I am very close to and has two Red Raider parents, grew up dreaming of being an Aggie. He didn't get accepted and has cursed the name A&M ever since. It's at a level we do not discuss it. I know this does not represent ALL of texas tech folks, but it's certainly the majority these days.

When A&M's academic standards began to increase more dramatically in the early 80s, the prestige gap that separated A&M and texas tech increased. Now, we're one of the top 5 or so public institutions in the country(therefore, the world) and texas tech is texas tech. Nuff said. I believe much of their bitter envy stems from rejection, or a sense of arrogance they falsely perceive in Aggies. That's too bad, but there's nothing we can do about that.

Remember texas tech if you done it, it ain't braggin'.
Congrats on beating the Ags again, enjoy it while it lasts!
