Kyle Bryant. And he married a soccer star. So his son will surpass him.

Tony Franklin - hand's down. He kicked bare footed. Pregame warmups for most kickers stop at the fifty. Tony routinely kicked 60 and even 70 yard FG's in pregame warmups. Granted there's a world of difference kicking uncontested as opposed to having 11 people trying to block your kick. It was a special time when you knew your team was in field goal range after a single first down.

DecadePlan, our memories play tricks on us. Franklin and Uwe were the same day. Littles kicks were a year later.

I was at the Michigan game when Tony Franklin was the kicker. All the media attention was on him. He could hardly kick in warmups for the photographers swarming around him taking pictures. That kind of kicker was really unheard of in the Big 10 in those days.

He was a first class guy, also. He took my son, who was about 6 at that time, on the sidelines with him for the second half of the the spring game (yes, that was allowed back then). My son never forgot it. He made second team all state place kicker in Louisiana as a senior in high school.

Franklin or Venetoulias. Both were money.

Steve O'Neal was a pretty decent punter who went on to play in the NFL. Believe it was for the Jets. He probably still owns the record for longest punt in the NFL at 99 (or 98?) yards.

Not only is Lechler an all-pro, he brought two other punters that had/have potential to be just as good.
