Wow. That nutcase shot someone from every walk of life... a white guy, a ROTC cadet, a black guy, an asian girl, a band member, a Jew, a Muslim, Christians, professors, students. Makes me more sad to see them. From his letter he was apparently angry at some rich elite, but I don't think that's what he got.

So sad... I'm almost relieved that yesterday and today were ridiculously busy for me so I didn't have down time to fully think of all that happened yesterday. All these poor people were doing was sitting in and/or teaching class.

Virginia Tech should be so proud of its smart, amazing and diverse students and talented faculty. It's so heartbreaking seeing those faces and hearing about their dreams.

What a waste and senseless tragedy - those kids and professors deserved to live out their promise.

i couldn't agree more. it seems that we do not possess the ability to really appreciate what we have until it is gone. God, family, and friends are truly what we should value, not money, or stuff, etc. it took the loss of my father for me to realize this...

i can't help but cry a little...

Putting a face to these victims is heartwrenching and painful.

Unbelievably sad that all these people woke up Monday morning to what they thought was going to be a normal day and are now gone because of a senseless act of violence. God Bless them alland especially their families who are having to deal with what this one person wrought.

so many beautiful faces - i cannot help but cry

NBC Dateline ran the pics and a little info on each one last night, very sad, each had such great promise and seemed to be going places. A true cross section of America in those class rooms.

I found out late last night that Jarret Lane is the cousin of a lady I work with in our churches Childrens Church program. She also is my sons Sunday School teacher. Her and her husband have three relatives currently at Virginia Tech. Two survived .... sadly, Jarret did not.
