$150k is outrageous.. granted, i am not in the "big light fixing industry", but i can't fathom it costing $10,000 a letter to fix/replace.. $10,000 to rent a crane.. $10,000 for misc expenses.. and $10,000 to pay the fish pond maintainer to let us know when its going to be done. i'd love to see the actual #'s in that estimate.

Considering the price of tickets, we should have revenue available for this kind of maintenance.

Imagine seeing that glow on a cold night in November as we face off with the horns for the Big XII South Title.

Maybe lighting those particular lights are not in BB's New Army scope and he would not be able to place his stamp on this item.

The athletic department made $45,000,000 last year. Look it up. And we don't have the money to fix lights we had the money to put up and maintain back in the 80's??? Bull****. $150,000 is WAY more than it would cost, Bill clearly pulled that out of his butt. But even if it was true, we have the money to do it, believe me. If we can affoard to run the huge screen and the ribbon boards we can eat the cost of turning on light bulbs under some signs. We should push harder for this. My .02.

Replace Kyle and Field with huge ribbon boards in their place. Then have it flash "KYLE FIELD", "HOME OF THE FIGHTING TEXAS AGGIES"! That will solve the problem. You can advertise during the day.

Imagine what it would do in the way of season ticket sales to old ags to restore the night game, and put it back on Thanksgiving, even. I'm all for the Kyle Field sign. While we're at it, let's give the football team the jersey sleeves back, with the two white rings. Those LBs just looked mean wearing those.

Alright. It will cost me money out of my pocket, but I will do it for $40K. I will be proud to make a $30K contribution to Kyle Field.

Seriously, I'm thinking about setting up a "KYLE FIELD Lights Fund". Any money we raise in excess of the cost to get them lit up again will be used for maintenance and then donated to the 12th Man Foundation. Who all would be interested in donating? (I feel like Travis, drawing a line!)

Actually you could probably raise a big part of the money with t-shirt sales. If they would cooperate and have one game as a Light Up for Kyle Field Game.

Sell shirts Or even just have bins out for donations--I bet a fair amount could be raised that way also.
