That Cake is awesome!!! I had a BONFIRE cake for my groom's cake at my wedding. The serving dish it was on also played the WAR HYMN!!!!

Here's the Bonfire cake from our wedding, it was outside and fairly hot out, the stack started to lean. I was worried I'd have to endure a life of jokes about Bonfire falling before the vows!

That's because it's made with fondant icing. Fondant icing basically has no flavor and is gummy. A good bakery knows how to get around this but it sounds like they didn't put any extra effort into the taste.

How long to make it- a couple of days at least. It's a great cake for next year, but today shouldn't there be some Light Gray Icing on the corners of the 3rd Deck?

Id assume that meant pouring some brandy over it and lighting the brandy on fire, much like baked feta cheese in a greek restaurant or a brandy-creme sauce for fowl.

It was awesome! And tasty too! I felt kinda bad eating it but I was eating where I have season tickets.. So I felt like I had earned it!
