I don't know if it is the best, but a defensive stop of a two time MNC/Heisman Trophy winning team with a TD drive on either side by a team down by two TDs has to be close.

Greatest individual performance ever by a player.

Maybe the best game I've seen (OSU/Miami was up there too ... but I still say Miami got screwed on a pass interference call).

One of the best - the best I remember was Ohio State winning over Miami a couple of years ago.

It certainly was up there. I know people gripe about the BCS but to think that without it, Texas is playing in the Fiesta (or Orange, I can't rememeber) bowl and SC is in the Rose. We end up with two undefeateds and no real MNC. Now how gay is that?

Thank you BCS for Miami-Ohio State and sips-SC...both excellent games that would have never happened the old fashioned way...they are certainly up there near the top...and a hell of a lot better than split championships between teams that did not play like the Neb Mich debacle of Tom Osborne's last year...

2002 game was better IMO, only because both teams had so many mistakes in this one. That said, it lived up to the hype.

Actually, that was a regular season game, and just moved UT into the #1 ranking. The actual championship was won when we defeated Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl on January 1, 1970.

The other 11 teams, we beat by double digits.

ESPN's hype of The Greatest Team in College Football History ensured this to be one of the greatest upsets in memory, and one the greatest Championships, ever.
