Easily - I'm 53 and I will never see us get to the level tu was tonight in my lifetime.

Florida State, Florida and Miami all managed to win national titles not far apart from one another and they reside in the same state.

Don't worry, before it's all said & done Fran will add another decade to that gap.

Forget 10 years. We won't beat them again until Mack retires, and he's only about 51 or so. It will be at least 15-20

Anyway, tu was putting together 10 win seasons when OU was playing for the MNC. Over the last 3 seasons, we're averaging about half that production.

I was thinking the same thing. Glad to know that there is more than one positive Aggie. We played with tu this year. There is no reason that could not be us next year.

We just had a 5-6 season where we lost to Tech by 49 and were taken down to the wire by Tx State. We were one of only 4 teams that didn't go to a bowl game this year Baylor, Oklahoma State, K-State, and us (how's that for company?) OU just beat number 6 Oregon on the west coast And our rival just knocked of USC to win the national title ON THEIR HOME FIELD. If you don't think that our football program is in critical condition you are either drunk...or need to be.

Texas was consistently winning nine games per season when OU won the MNC.

We on the other hand, have two losing seasons in the last three.

Yeah, as far as the cyclical nature of football, isn't Mac averaging about 10-2 seasons for the last 7 or 8 years? Now they might be on a really long cycle, but we have gone from 6-6 to Big XII champs to 77-0 and Baylor losses all in the span of Texas one up cycle. We have to have big changes to consistantly challenge the horns on the field. The late 80's and early to mid-90's were great, but they're over. We need help.

1. I believe T+1 2005 did a lot to build confidence in our young team. We can beat them.
2. Not counting this year's recruiting class, our last three are very comparable/better. We are putting together a talented and deep roster. Developing them is the question.
3. Aggies don't quit.

The damage has already been done. They can't offer a scholarship to everybody and there will always be some talent available out there. Fran needs to recruit better than OU, Tech, LSU, tu, and all the Florida schools.

10 yrs is an overstatement. and, as has been pointed out by many, didn't happen in one night.

tu will dominate recruiting next year. Of course, they pretty much dominated it this year. This year, even some heavy Aggie leans committed to the dark side. Youngsters are going to be growning up sip fans.

You sound like one of those guys walking around screaming about the end of the world, get a grip seriously.
Theres plenty of talent in the state of Texas. Instead of crying, support our boys what else is there to do?

And you're probably he type of person who likes to reward mediocrity with a million dollar raise. Please remove the maroon veil of dillusion covering your eyes and realize that something is wrong. People like myself have supported this school and team for years, given financially, and stayed through even the worst losses until the very end. We are behind the team 100%, the only difference is that we are tired of moral victories and minimizing defeats.

This is why I think there is a bit of a silver lining to texas winning the national championship. Now, Fran is under even more pressure to earn his $2 million 12th Man paycheck. I think he needs at least 10 wins next year to keep his job, especially when you consider the 2007 road schedule (Miami, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tech, Missouri) will be even more difficult than this season.

Actually if you subtract 1984 - 1970 that equals 14 years. So 2006 + 14 = 2020. Isn't that our vision anyway?

Baron, please be realistic. Those teams had Bobby Bowden, Steve Spurrier, and Lary Coker. We have...........yeah, thats what I thought!

Why don't we remember that in the past three years, we've had the 8th, 10th, and 13th ranked classes in the nation? There is no reason we can't be good also. Remember, we played UT better than anyone this year, losing only because of costly errors, which will reduce with experience. We have a good year next year, even with a loss to Texas, and players will still want to come here. It is still A&M and all of us chose it because we knew that while UT was an easily attainable option, our university is a better place to get an education. No one wanted the Longhorns to lose more than me, but let's not panic. It stings, I know. Even if Vince leaves, we still have Lane, Lewis, and McGee to trample them. It will also be nice to have our starting four recievers back. We punked Vince once, and we can do it again. We will always support our team.

While it stings to see them win because I dread the reaction, I'll wait and see how my daily longhorn encounters go tomorrow. I also have to say that I gained much respect for Vince in his interview on ESPN a minute ago. And plus, he makes playing football look effortless.
