I think it was the New Orleans Saints a while back, but I could be wrong. Anyway, I saw something on NFL Films and they showed the majority of fans coming to games with paper bags over their heads (with eye cutouts to watch the impending disaster). It was hilarious to be honest.

This is really sort of how I feel. I'm not a 2%er and have never been. I will watch the Ags even when they are bad - I just can't not watch. I've spent a lot of money to see my team lose long distance road trips in South Bend, New York, and other places. I am a member of the 12th Man Foundation. I guess supporting Texas A&M football is sort of like an addiction, but I feel a little bit like those fans who wanted to be anonymous. Let me feed my addiction in privacy and with no shame.

I'm not advocating we change Maroon Out by selling maroon paper bags with the eyes cut out, but damn, I am embarrassed watching this team lose like they have in these last five seasons.

I feel the same way. It's a helpless feeling though. What can I do about it? Fran will get a 4th year, one which he doesn't deserve in any way whatsoever. Just be another wasted year as we fall further behind.

I googled it and it was the Saints. I haven't found any pics yet. The shot I saw on TV was hilarious because it wasn't just one fan with a paper bag on his head, it was hundreds and to see only paper bags in a crowd shot is really funny.

Second paragraph:

In 1980, the Saints lost their first 14 games, prompting fans to design paper bags to wear over their heads to the team's home games; the bags rendered the club's name as the "'Aints" rather than the "Saints," and this practice then spread rapidly, first to fans of other poorly-performing teams within the NFL, and ultimately to those of other American team sports as well, and has become a firmly-established custom throughout the United States.

I would think the Aggie version would have maroon paper bags with the eyes cut out. Each fan could write something clever on their bag such as:

- Just waiting for the Fran Plan to take effect

- Wait 'til next year

- Stay the course

- Hold the rope

- Frantastic

- Who do you play for?

- Just say no to soda

- Just wait 'til the indoor facility is finished

- Aggies never lose a halftime

- We didn't lose, we just got outscored (again)

Or maybe since it is anonymous fans could print out there TexAgs handle on the front of the bag...

Maybe these fans could be known as the Baggies...

Trying to find some humor in this fiasco. Laughter and alcohol help dull the pain (at least a little).

Just for fun, what would you write on your bag?

One Saints season ticket holder put 2 of his tickets under his winshield wiper hoping that someone would take them. When he came back to his car there were 8 tickets there.

I wouldn't be one bit surprised to see fans with bags on their heads on T+1.

A&M Basketball in 2003-2004.

One yell leader approached a BagHead and told his he was a horrible Aggie and should be supporting the team. The BagHead informed him that he and his baghead buddies were among the less than 1/10 of 1% of students who actually showed up at Reed, and politely asked if he had been to a game before getting elected.

One of the funniest scenes I have ever witnessed in my life.
