Might as well add my story. I'm sure other people remember this as well.

I don't remember which year it was, but for one of the home games with tceh while I was in school, some sand flea decided to spray paint a double-t on the Administration Building.

I realize it was just one jackass, but it seems a little more than coincidence that in my 5 years at A&M, I never saw anything like that and the one time I did it was from a tceh fan.

CU has now started wrapping the batteries with marshmellows. So when you see it on TV, it looks harmless, but they pelted the Tech band last time in Boulder.

Ole Miss fans were throwing beer bottles at the Tech players during the game in Oxford in 2003. (per the radio broadcast)

A guy on my audit team (ND alumn) got hit in the face with a hot dog at Michigan in '99 before the game even started. When ND took the lead in the 4th quarter, he had a Coke poured over his head.

I will admit that I saw a birthday cake dropped out of a sixth floor dorm window that landed just in front of some Nebraska fans in 2000.

Every school has their bad ones.

let me know when every school requires cops with riot gear to attend their games.

NO! Get it right.

The tu fans throw batteries at us.
The tech fans throw goal posts at us.
The Baylor fans throw Bibles at us.
The OU fans throw dirt in our face.
The CU fans throw their special brownies at us.
The Arkansas fans used to throw banjos at us.
The LSU fans threw raw meat at us.
And the NU fans throw corn cobs at us.

But they might as well all throw tampons at us because we seem to need them when we CRY AND WHAIL ABOUT THE BEHAVIOR OF OTHER TEAM'S FANS!!!

Some one please call the Whambulance for our soft skinned fans.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

It's pretty pathetic when Tech's band director comes over and asks if he can walk out with the Aggie Band, b/c he's too scared of his own people.

Oh and let us not forget the drunk techie that was pushing Col Brewer (the guy that says "now forming at the north end of Kyle Field....) around, and got his ass laid out on the concrete by the Colonel.

Wow, so it was actually worse than I remember. Probably a first for me when it comes to tceh. I always just assume that the stereotype slants my memories. Apparently not.

raiders... funny stuff.. seriously.

batteries in marshmallows... throwing hotdogs (hopefully not with mustard)... and dropping bday cakes.

funny stuff, hopefully no one got hurt.

i'm just saying what i hear. i never hear stories about nebraska fans throwing things for example. i would like to think the same thing about a&m fans, but i could be wrong... if there are any accounts there, would be interesting to hear.

I'm sure this year they'll just throw a bunch of points up at us.

A couple years ago, some reporter went to every Big 12 school for a game wearing the opposing team's gear. He'd then write an article about how he was treated. I can't remember if the tcehies sodomized him or not.

Anyone remember this? Got a link?

It never bothered me...

tceh fans were pretty cowardly about the whole thing, they love to do the long-range thing (throwing stuff) but only one dude tried to run throw the band and he got clocked...

Nobody else tried it, thats speaks more about them then anything

they hit one of our players' parents with a bottle in the parking lot in 99 after the game.

gotta love tech.

It says a lot that the cops in Lubbock hate the tceh fans. The ones that escorted us when I was in the band always seemed to enjoy getting into confrontations with the drunken fans.

In '01, the band was sitting behind the endzone, sort of wrapped around the grassy area that they have there behind the goalposts. Fans sit in that grassy area to watch the game, and one guy kept jumping up onto the railing to yell at the band, particularly the drummer fish that was sitting there on the edge. At one point the guy was up on the wall, hanging onto the rail and yelling in this cadet's face. My old lady was sitting just in front of him and told the fish "Get that guy out of the band."

The fish cracked the guy on the knuckles with his sticks and he fell down into the grassy area. He turned to the cop standing right there and complained, to which the officer responded "Well, stay out of the band."

I seem to remember red koolaid being poored on the Aggie players as they entered the stadium at a game in the early 90's. Does anyone else recall that event?

My story about tceh is the last time we played them up in lbk, we were at an Aggie Tailgate in the parking lot of the Hastings (right across from the field, and where everyone else does). Anyways, my girlfriend (at that time, fiance now) and I start to walk over to go to the game and we hear all sorts of chants and yells at us and we pretty much just shrugg it off bc thats just what we were supposed to do. We get to this one truck and theres some drunk guy who starts whooping and tell us to go to hell and then out of the corner of my eye I see him throw an unopened beer can at us (and not at me mind you but at my fiance). I catch the can right before it hits her in the head and throw it right back at his truck. Needless to say it shattered the backwindow of his truck and before I could turn around the lubbock police were getting escorted across the street by the lubbock police. The cops didn't do write me a ticket or anything, but I'm pretty sure the guy got arrested because some other officers went up to him and slapped some cuffs on him. Thats the jist of it anyways and I despise the entire UIL underachieving middle school that exists in lubbock, texas with more hate than I could ever imagine.

Nah, it wasn't the Tceh students. Evidently, it turns out that RC did it as some kinda motivational deal.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Two things...

1st... am I going to feel really stupid for asking this.... but... is there any significance to throwing batteries other than having something to pelt people with? Hell, I always thought throwing tortillas was a pretty funny move, but batteries are BS.

2nd... I'm still baffled why they act like this. I grew up in the Panhandle and at least in the Amarillo area and its surroundings, it was the most friendly respectful bunch of people I have been around (in general... everyone has their loons). One the many reasons I loved A&M was when I arrived on campus, it felt just like home in that respect even though the school alone was four times the size of my town. Is there something in the water at ttu that turns these folks 180 degrees around like that? It's shameful in every sense and it just reminds me why I never liked Lubbock one bit and makes me proud that I didn't even consider that sand pit of a school.

Boozoo,

1- nope, just to hurt people

2- I've lived in Lubbock all my life, and I still don't understand it. Perfectly friendly, normal people that turn into complete animals when playing the Ags, or the Horns but especially the Ags.
AliasMan02
How long do you want to ignore this user?
1. They are small and heavy. It's not just tceh fans that do it, it's a problem in lots of places.

2. You would have to ask a shrink, but the fact that most of the people that attend tceh did not/could not get into A&M or t.u. has a lot to do with it. In the old days tceh was just the regional school. It's where you went if you were from West Texas and needed to stay close to home or couldn't afford to move across the state. The old guard has slowly been replaced by the new. Why exactly, I can't say.
Boozoo
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Well TechAggie, I'll give you this much... a lot of my dislike for Lubbock has to do with the rotten luck I always had whenever I dropped down there for an errand or a trip. Seemed I always either got caught in a storm, blew a radiator hose, or some other karma that told me to stay away.

Sometimes I wonder if it also has a lot to do with these kids cutting loose a lot more than they would at home where mom and dad would add some pop knots to their heads for acting like that. But then that could be said of nearly any school... A&M excepted of course.

I remember seeing cotton floating out of the stands at Kyle Field when we beat the 'sips in '87 but that's about the worst I've ever run across. That and an occasional roll of toilet paper unfurling from the third deck...

There were 67 people in my HS senior class, only 2 of us came to aggieland, about 10 went to tech, the rest went to tarleton, weatherford, midwestern, or did absolutely nothing.

Anyways, tech turned my perfectly normal friends into a bunch of raging alcoholic douchebags. Only one person from HS that went to tech remained a normal, repsectable human being.

On one of my trips to tech, before the goalpost incident, probably late 90s, after we were outscored we were walking across part of the campus along with a bunch of other Aggies to get to the Aggie sponsored BBQ. The tech students were lining the walkway on both sides screaming insults and shaking their damn bells in people's faces. It was the worst display of sportsmanship I have ever personally witnessed. And it wasn't a few bad apples. It was many, many tech fans. I thought some BQs near us were going to go postal. Thankfully, all Aggies remained calm. It could have been a disaster.

foster, i've had about the same incidents at tech...

walking through the parking lot after the game in 03 with tailgaters almost in a line on both sides yelling insults at me and a couple of friends (unprovoked, just wearing a&m shirts). yelling at me through a megaphone on a streetcorner trying to get me to look over. ahh, not much of that bothers me. i just take it for what it is worth.

that is pretty much the extent of it, consistent though in the 5 or 6 times i've been there. and in my opinion, yeh, there are bad apples everywhere, there just seems to be quite a number more at tech than other schools and sometimes it extends past insults and poor sportsmanship to where someone could get hurt.

i was there for the goalpost incident about 40 yards away on the side of the u.

now at tu and cu, i was told to foff by a couple of fans. haven't personally audibily heard it from tech fans, but i have read it on their tshirts made up for the a&m game for sure. saw the same thing at lsu with tshirts there for the a&m game, some homemade.

I think that's the key. Every school does have their jackasses. It's just that tceh has more and they're worse than just about anybody else's. At some point you have to wonder why.

I think that was at Oklahoma State, but I don't think that we can really complain about people at OSU misbehaving. If anything, it is the behavior of a few Ags that is less than perfect. In the last two times that we have been some BQs have stolen (or been caught in the act of trying to steal) a cheerleader megaphone, a windbreaker, some sort of orange rally towel (also from the cheerleaders), and an OSU spare tire cover from someone's jeep. Even we classy Aggies have some bad apples among us.

AliasMan02
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Well bagger, as a wise man once noted, there certainly are bad apples everywhere, but the difference is that (traditionally) at A&M the majority keeps the others in check by calling them on it. That isn't really the case at tceh or t.u. The level-headed majority just stays silent.

I mean, I think that most Ags can relate a story telling some other Aggie to chill out, watch their language, etc. The types of people that throw stuff, yell obscenities, and start conflict are cowards that will back down at the slightest rebuke.
