2. Texas (Uugghh ... arch rival)
6. Alabama (Team rebuilding like us showing much more progress than us; and it hurts more due to the fact that we got Coach Fran and entire coaching staff from them)
8. Penn State (Team rebuilding as well; unbelievable turnaround with recruiting classes lower than A&M's, save last year's class only; ouch)
9. Notre Dame (Team rebuilding with just as unbelievable turnaround as the Nittany Lions; Charlie Weiss has done an outstanding job and his coaching staff can run circles around our coaching staff)
10. LSU (Les Miles and company doing ok; shouldn't have lost to Tennessee at home, but they are still in the Top 10; head to head competition for recruits is key in keeping up with the Tigers in success this year on the field)
12. UCLA (Amazing how well the Bruins have done this year with a team that handily beat the Sooners; however, the Sooners are down this year; but nonetheless, great turnaround for that program)
13. Texas Tech (Still undefeated and with the win in Nebraska positions themselves as probably the only real challenge left for the Horns in their quest for the national title; 2nd best team in the Big 12 South)
24. Colorado (Soundly defeat the Aggies this past weekend; showed great defense and Klatt shredded the secondary for almost 400 yards in a very short period of time; I shudder to think what Texas Tech will do to us; will probably win the Big 12 North)
25. TCU (Another former team that Coach Fran help build that is doing better than the Aggies; double ouch; 3rd best team in Texas behind the Horns and Red Raiders, at least for now)
Fourth best team in Texas just might be the Baylor Bears. After they went on the road and beat a good Iowa State team (who had knocked off No. 9 Iowa earlier in the year) and how they played against us (should have beat us), they are currently better than the Ags at this point in the season.
The Ags better step it up in all phases of the game - defense (horrible secondary and no pass rush; did I mention no pass rush), special teams are not so special, offense (Reggie, even though very talented, is very inconsistent; have a much better chance with McGee at the helm; looks more poised and much, much more consistent; it is now about getting wins; Reggie's Heisman hopes are long, long gone).
Time to walk the walk, not just talk the talk.
Need to go 3-0 in next three games to be 6-2 overall and 4-1 in conference before we go on the road to Texas Tech. I do not see us beating Tech and I definitely do not see us beating Texas. We have a chance at Oklahoma, but continue to play like we have, we probably will not win there either. We could easily be 6-5 this year ... if we can only muster wins in our next three games. This season thusfar is a major disappointment. Let's hope the Ags right this ship starting this weekend against OSU.
