This is a great recruiting tool- we have a long list of Fish WRs- Murphy, E. Taylor, Franks, Morrow....

Fran can talk to any stud WR recruit and honestly tell them "A&M plays its Freshmen WRs, if they're good enough!"

Believe me, the best will all think they're good enough!

Bethel: I'm pretty sure he played as a true fish. I do remember that Slocum said he was the most impressive WR he'd ever seen at A&M. That's pretty high praise even for a team that didn't have a history of great WRs. I believe he got a medical RS for rupturing his spleen. He went up for a pass and got hit, and then went down.

As for Morrow...
In the all-star game, he was very impressive. One of his greatest efforts came on a pass a little too far out of bounds, but he did a superman dive for it and made the catch well out of bounds. He hit the ground so hard that it took him a while to get back up, but he held on to the ball. He also burned the defense on inside routes and deep routes, just like he did in his highlight reel. What amused me was that the other team had to bring in a tall and fast WR specifically to cover Morrow because the DBs couldn't (including our recruit - Arkeith Brown I believe). That WR they brought in did manage to knock away a fade pass to the endzone intended for Morrow, but that's the only play I can recall Morrow not making.

Based on his HS footage, I am anxious to see him play for us. It's even better to hear that Fran believes he's good enough to play immediately, so he must be impressing the coaches against D1 competition.

Bethel did not play as a true freshman. He was a partial qualifier. As a freshman he had his legendary "best scout team player ever" title bestowed upon him.

I mean realistically, are any of our senior receivers 1st round draft picks?

That is a retarded statement.

Three of the BEST WR's ever to come through Texas A&M did NOT get drafted in the first round (Bethel, Fergy, and Murph).

I'd take those 3 "non-1st round draft picks" and ride them to a MNC.

You can take your Santana Moss.

Isnt there some saying that you will have 1 loss for every freshman you start?
