I wish we would have shirted Franks as well last year.

No doubt Kerry was great but it wasn't necessary to burn a year of his. We would have been fine w/o him.

Imagine the future with Franks and Morrow. I hope Jerrod Johnson turns into a stud as well. Throw in Martellus at TE and our WR corps looks bright.

Why? Unless you think we wont continue to pull in talented WRs. I like the idea of playing with Reggie!

1 or 2 true fish deserve / are ready to play each year.

KF got the nod last year. HM and a DB should get it this year.

I think WR is a VERY deep position already, unless we are running MANY 5 receiver sets, there is no way he plays, let him shirt.

I say if you have the talent play it, there are no guarantees for next year. Plus, Our OL should be better next year and i bet we go to a more run based offense whereas this year will be more pass oriented. JMO.

I am all in favor of shirt, but I think we ought give him a helmet, shoes, pads and pants as well.

I think that in years past, Fran RS'd almost everyone because he was thinking of the future. I think that Fran sees opportunity to have a really good year this year and will be less inclined to RS the better guys. IMO, Lane, Morrow, Tellus and 2 DBs will all lose their shirts this year. We need depth at DB, and we have some good ones coming in. Also, talents like Morrow and Bennett can't just sit on the bench. Lane is the only question mark in my mind. I still think he'll play though.

I just don't think Reggie is lacking talented WR's to throw to.

Morrow is very similar to Mobley.

We also have Franks out there. We have Riley. We have Schroeder. We have Earvin Taylor (who many here have forgotten about). Jason Carter looks to be back.

Also Pierre Brown and Keith Dickerson will be gettng their first chance to prove themselves.

Just looking at our top WR's Mobley, Riley, Carter and Franks where do we squeeze Morrow in?

What can Morrow do that those 4 can't?

And of course there is all the talent behind those first 4...

I also want McGee to have those sure-handed receivers for at least 3 years, guaranteed.

let the best players play. if morrow is one of them at the wr spot, then play him. if you think he is that good, thehn redshirting him will only mean that he will leave after his RS junior year, rather than possibbly staying all 4.

if Reggie plays to his potential this year, then Redshirting him would probley have meant him leaving after his RS junior season anyway.

I agree I hope he shirts.

With Mobley, Riley, Cater, Taylor, Schroeder, Franks, Reed, Brown, and Dickerson we have plenty of players to throw to.

You add in Stutz, Thomas, Gbunblee, and Bennett we may not have enough balls to go around in the first place. If he is good enough to break the top three then I say play him. Otherwise redshirt him.

But what can Morrow do that Mobley, Riley, Carter and Franks can't?

I'm against a shirt. I think Morrow is a game breaker type that needs to see the field.

Franks made a clutch catch against Tech and one against Colorado that were really important in getting the win. Without those catches, both of those games could have been losses and we would have been 5-6 sitting at home during bowl season. I dont know how you can say we would have been fine without Franks.

I think Morrow should play if hes ready. The kid is probably too talented to keep off the field. We could use another playmaker on the field.

If he's good enough to make the 2-Deep, then let him play. If not, red-shirt him.

He can do it all. He has the hands and route running ability to be a possession guy, he runs well after the catch, and he gets very good separationg from DBs so he is also a deep threat. He also has body control and athletic ability to make catches that a lot of our WR's simply cannot.

He is the most fluid WR Ive ever seen at A&M and he should leave here with every receiving record there is.

If they're good enough, let them play. It would be nice to have a ton of guys with game snaps under their belts when McGee takes over next season.

We have a lot of great young talent at WR. I am very excited about Pierre and KD as well. If KD can stay healthy, he is going to suprise a lot of people.

Fran has pretty much said he'd play any kid that is ready to play. I guess he'd have to be pretty good considering the competition.

Another angle to look at is that our top 3 WRs this year will be seniors, meaning we will need a lot of guys to step up in 2006 to fill the void. Seeing as how that will be McGee's first year as a starter, it makes it that much more important to have proven WR's ready to step in. Morrow will need the experience this season.

We're 6 deep at WR. Shirt him

Not sure if we can "shirt" Lane, might need to wrap a sheet around him though.

If you think Morrow can help us win this year, then you play him. IMO he will play and he should play. he has great hands and runs great routes.

how many receivers do you think we need to run the spread offense? Including possible injuries wouldn't one want seven or eight experienced targets? Morrow plays to gain experience and add depth to prepare for future. Hopefully, we will recruit receivers like Morrow and Tellus every year.

The future is bright and I am excited about this season!

Redshirt for sure. Nothing against the guy. He is certainly talented enough to play, but we are already stacked with guys who have to share the ball.

Sure wish we would've redshirted Reggie.

Hindsight is 20/20 though.......

Morrow will redshirt and do some great things in his future here. (Didn't Bethel redshirt?....maybe I'm wrong here)

With it being year 3, and the necessity to win and win now (especially for recruiting purposes), I believe you have to play anyone and everyone who can help us win today.

If Morrow can come in and supplant several players on the depth chart despite being "similar" to them, then you have to play him.

Kerry Franks was worth losing his shirt just for that Tech win. He was the difference between a 6-5 and 7-4 regular season.

I would even trade Danny Gorrer's redshirt if it meant he would have broken up the overtime 2 pt conversion by Baylor.

Fran and co. took it on the chin in 2003 to stock pile talent, now it's time to play to win.

Considering that it is Reggie McNeal's senior season, I believe you give him the cream of the crop when it comes to weapons at his disposal. If Morrow is one of those weapons, then you play him.

fortunately it's not up to us. I think he'll see the field. He's explosive. Looks too explosive to keep off the field. Also, yeah we're deep, but if he's better than the others why shirt him?

If Fran thought all our wide receivers were world beaters, then Franks wouldn't have played last year. Fact is, we have a lot of possession receivers, and very few gamebreakers.

When was the last time the Ags brought in a receiver that had like 3,000 yards receiving in his HS career? Anyone that saw the allstar game can readily see why. They couldn't cover him. He is fast, elusive, strong, and has great hands. He puts the ball in the endzone.

Even though we say we have a "deep" WR group, I have not seen a single Ag receiver mentioned in any publications for preseason hype. We NEED receivers like Franks and Morrow that will scare the crap out of the DC. They will make the other receivers even more effective as they will get a lot of attention.

Morrow will play this year, IMHO. And, he will have an impact. If you want to win the big games, you need "money" players who will make that one play that makes a difference. Morrow is that kind of guy.

As has been stated, the guy runs great routes, has good hands, and can go up and get the ball in traffic, is physical, can block downfield, and will likely be a tough cover for DBs. I have absolutely no problem with him seeing the field this year despite our depth at WR.
