According to some guy who went to E3 from horn fans, VY is a 95 with 90 speed while Reggie is a 95 with 86 speed. I don't know what the passing stats are...
GI

I assume Young has the edge on all the running stats, and Reggie on all passing stats.

does speed mean just straight 40 speed? If so, I thought Reggie was a good amount faster, but as for juking abilities once on the run, I'd definately give that too Vince.

I for one would like to see Reggie start sliding once he picks up a good chunk of yardage rather than getting hit pretty good.

Just my 2 cents.

i hope they fixed it where the Dline are not on his heals and take him down from behind 10 yards up the field

Young 4.5 40 = 90 speed
McNeal 4.3 40 = 86 speed

So, is this like golf where a lower score is better?

I want to see the passing stats. If Young beats Reggie than someone needs to be shot.
tacking on an extra year
How long do you want to ignore this user?
im actually ok with young being "faster" in the game because he can without a doubt scramble and run better than reggie. i dont think he would be as effective in the game if he just had 99 on agility.

that being said, i think there should be a code where a duck quacks everytime he throws the ball.

no longer actually tacking on an extra year. i had to get a real job.

I agree with tacking on an extra year.

Are any of you surprised? I'm not because A&M gets no respect in video games. Reggie should easily be the fastest QB in the game but of course actual numbers mean jack **** to EA.

Sometimes I think that the only stuff EA looks at to make their decisions on stats for players is who is favored more by the media.

Here is how I invision a conversation going be two people working on the game:

Employee 1: "Hey look at this guy, the media seems to love him."

Employee 2: "Oh yeah? His skills must be off the charts then.

Em1: "I agree, so what skill numbers do you think he should get."

Em2: "90 speed, 99 agility, 90 accuracy, 97 power."

Em1: "Sounds about right."

Em2: "Hey look at this, I found this other guy who runs a 4.25 in the 40 yard dash and was in the top 10 in total yards last year."

Em1: "40 yard dash? What is that some kind of passing speed thing?

Em2: "I have no idea. However I do know that I haven't heard much about this guy."

Em1: "Me either, so how does 86 speed,84 agility, 80 accuracy, 88 power sound?

Em2: "Sounds perfect."

They try to make thing fair also. Reggie is going to have really good passing ability and good speed. He'll probally be the easiest QB to use in the game because his accuracy his high and he will probally be the 2nd fastest QB. They have to make Young faster because thats his game. They aren't exactly going to factor is stride length and leverage because of height.

I don't think they screw us, but they just do stupid stuff. Like making Reggie too slow, and making Hooper our best DLine guy.

I'm interested to see what they do with our RB and DLine ratings. They always miss people or just have wrong info/stats in there.

Also, they need to fix it so you can have 6 or 7 CBs in the depth chart.

How many players max are on the roster in 2006? In 2004 its only like 55.... makes it tough to redshirt people, etc...

'05 was 70. not sure why they don't let you have the 85 limit...

Are you serious? Cedric Benson ran a 4.5...Do you REALLY think Vince is as slow as Cedric??? I can`t recall ANYONE running down Vince from behind...Seems that would be easy SINCE hes so slow...

Vander...I don`t even know where to begin with your post...Yea all these people who make these games as life like AS they can are just out to screw A&M...

I can`t imagine how SOME of you are not tired of these debates...Opinions vary on Vince and Reggie...They are both good at what THEY do...Leave it at that...

The problem with SOME Aggies is they can never give credit to someone when it`s due...

I'm an Aggie, and Vince Young is a beast......But Reggie is better. Yeah I guess your right then, can't give any props when due.

Unless he got past the secondary, who on the defense would have a faster time than 4.5 to run him down? Of course he wouldn't be run down from behind! A 4.5 forty is extremely fast.

Reggie is faster so the stats are crap, thats all.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
the ratings are relative to the game, hence

wr and rb being faster than LBs

They give him speed b/c that is the only distinguishable aspect to make him a better runner in the game. How many times do you see a WR with 80 speed. Its just how they make players different, it does not relate to their actual 40 time. DJ was squat for speed last year, but compared to the other LBs, he was very fast, and prob faster than Ced, but game didn't show it.

Matt Jones (fastest QB in the combine ever - I think Vick never ran at the combine) had 85 speed last year. They never make running QBs as fast as they really are because it would make the game too easy. In reality, both Vince and Reggie should be faster. Reggie should be around 98 speed, and Vince should be around 92 speed.
Austin Horns
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Vince is taller and faster than Reggie. He's also a more efficient passer (look at 2004). Where do you get your stats that show Reggie is faster? Reggie better? Yeah......it showed all of last year.

young can not hold reggies jock when it comes to throwing the ball. get over yourself horn. Look at reggies production

Hey Austin, put down the pipe bud. What are vince's 40 times, cause im pretty sure they aren't faster than a 4.28. And your boy vince...he throws like a woman. End of discussion.

Besides the bowl games... Yes, yes it did.

Reggie lead VY in Passing avg/game, total offense, passing efficiency, and my favorite RM: 14 passing TD's with 4 int's; VY: 12 passing TD's with 11 int's.

Vince's passing stats only look decent because he would throw mostly only short passes in the flat or to the tight end.

Step away from the burnt orange blinders bud.

Besides these stats any longhorn that knows anything about RM would agree that RM is faster, but VY is the better overall runner.

We'll see. Reggie has one more year to prove that he's the better QB. I'd still have Vince over Reggie anyday. Reggie hasn't proven that he can put it all together in a big game, Vince has. You guys can claim to have the better QB, RB, WR's, D-Line, and so on, but until you beat us, no one cares what you guys think. We've had these discussions before, about Farmer and Courtney being a better RB than Cedric, and we all know how that worked out. Why don't you compare Reggie's sophmore year stats to Vince's sophmore year stats?

And which game might that be? One of the OU games? Maybe that joke of a game against ku where the refs saved you?

Ohhhhhh! I know. The Rose Bowl. OK, I got ya now. True, you did manage to squeak that one out, but Reggie has a win against OU, so I guess that kinda makes it even going into the last round.

Other than the Rose Bowl, Vince has never won a big game for tu and, in fact, has been taken out of games due to his lack of production.

Young is a great college player, but I think Reggie is the only one of the two that stands a chance of becoming an NFL QB.

OU '02
He beat the #1 team in the country with his performance how much of a bigger game do you need?
Reggie did something by himself that no UT QB has done in over 5 years. His performance in that game was equal to or better than VY's Rosebowl performance.

VY has one great game RM has at least one great game. They are both incredible players. I never said one was better than the other because you can't really compare their styles. I think it's about a toss up.

Why can't we compare where they are today. They have had the same time in their systems. They are the same year. You guys are just lucky y'all redshirted VY... unless he goes pro this year.

I just don't like it when people with blinders come on spouting off crap that they have no knowledge of. First you say there are no stats that show RM is better an any way, and then you say he's never won the big game. You have been wrong both times. Maybe, you should leave it to the people that actually know what they are talking about?

Actually, A&M probably gets too much respect in video games. Look at 2005, A&M is awesome. Our line is awesome, C-Lew is really good, Joseph is the best fullback in the game, and they made Reggie unreal, etc. I can pretty much beat any team when I play with the Ags.

Sheesh, this is pathetic.

Ags claiming their QB is great b/c he's put it together in one game against OU in O2.

Horns saying the same thing about VY for the Rose Bowl last year.

Both teams should expect more out of star quarterbacks than one good game a career.

If the argument falls back to that, maybe everyone ought to just let it go.

I do expect more out of VY and I think he showed a trend of steady improvement last year leading up to and including the Rose Bowl. I think that will carry over into next year.

I don't watch Aggie football much, so I can't say how I'd feel about Reggie going into next year except to say I wasn't impressed by his performance against us. But his stats show a guy who's capable of being a huge star.

Both players have at least one more complete year ahead of them to prove themselves. Judging either based on one game is silly.
Austin Horns

Well then all of you guys are right and your whole team is better than ours. Until your great QB, RB, D-Line, and WR's beat Texas like I said, your points are moot. I think Texas beats a&m this year by at least 14. Texas will play in the Conference championship and win....finally. a&m will pick cotton again. Have a nice day.
