Just read a post concerning these rings. My dad is the class of '58, myself and my brother '82 & '83 respectively. Since my dad graduated pre-1972 is it possible to get one of these rings for my mother. We have over 25 graduated in my family and no one is more loyal to A & M than my mother. My brother and myself would never have been able to go to TAMU if not for her sacrifices. She is a special lady.

She'll really appreciate it -- believe me! My family gave me mine right after the tu game in '01. They took me to take pictures in front of Sully. A group of band members were forming a saber arch at the Century Tree for one of their members getting engaged. My son-in-law went to them and asked them if they would mind staying while my family gave me my ring. My family managed to pull off this complete surprise. Band members stayed and whooped as we went under the arch. I couldn't imagine why we were spoiling someone's photo op till we got to the end of the arch and my husband gave me the ring. It was really a special day!

What do they look like? Do they look just like "real" Aggie rings?

By the way, doesn't Texas remind you of the kid in Little League who had the fancy glove, $200 aluminum bat and private lessons and STILL didn't make the All-Star team? I thought so. Tom Dienhart, The Sporting News.

They are the same design as the ladies' Aggie rings. They have the Former Student's name inside the ring, just as his original one does -- as well as his class year.

They were also white gold, at least back in the 30's and 40's.

My wife who is an Ag, got her class ring in white gold so that it would look exactly like the sweetheart rings of both of her grandmothers who were married to Ol' Ags from those eras. BTW, both of her grandfathers wore their rings on their left hand like a lot of CT's do now, me being one of them.

My gal is definitely Ol' Army.

Thanks for the responses. If I order before 2/17 I will be able to give it to her on Mothers Day. Thanks again.

My mom's sweetheart ring is antiqued (as most rings were in that day), it has my dad's name inside it, and his class year.

82ATM, Good Bull!! I am class of '72 and found out about 15 years ago that I could order one for my "sweetheart" of 32 years now. She is a "Bearkat" very much converted Aggie! She proudly wears hers to each and every Aggie function. Sounds like a great idea for your Mom. Also good to publicize the fact that a lot of Aggies can do the same for moms and sweethearts. I found out about it by accident, many probably don't know it. I am sure she will treasure it. It is the little things that add up to the big things in life. Gig Em'!!

Too bad the order must be placed by the former student. I have always wanted to get one for my grandmother, but my grandfather is deceased. He could never afford to get her one while in school.

Howdy!

I recently saw your post about the Aggie Sweetheart ring. I was hoping to get in touch with you. My father, class of '66, tried to order the sweetheart ring from the Ring department in college station today. He was told they no longer offer the sweetheart rings. He is so disappointed. We are trying to get in touch with someone at A&M to see if they will make an exception.

Can you tell me if your sweetheart ring is exactly the same as a student Aggie ring?

My dad was told that Balfor stopped the program and no longer make the sweetheart ring. Which doesn't make since if it is the same ring that students currently order. I think he is being given bad information b/c they don't want to help him.

Thanks for any information you con provide!

I'll order at least one if it's possible. Any chance theirs a female Aggie ring version of this?

My dad, class of 58, ordered a sweetheart ring in 2016 and it is exactly like today's rings, except for the A&M college of Texas instead of Texas a&m university
