Very little about this team shows the fight to beat any of the teams left in the schedule other than maybe OU and that's not even a sure bet.

We couldn't tackle him 2 years ago when USCe whipped us. First time ai knew Elko didn't have team really ready for SEC big boy play as inept all over the field (and then free fall w Moss went down w knee injury).

Last year 1st half partially QB play but same thing w defense exposed. Still amazing that we came back from that.

Even though we own the record vs USCe, they are seem to be a bit bigger and more physical than our players the last few years. Irony w their fans (know a couple here in Tx), they count A&M as a win every year in their preseason kool aide just we seem to count them (well many seem to do).

This will help Beamer keep his job if he can put a beatdown on Elko.

I agree with OP. South Carolina is playing well and we're not catching them at the best time. We need some sustained drives while on offense, and need to cause a few turnovers while on defense. Captain obvious… but can't just rush 4 every down. This might be the toughest game we have the remainder of the year.

I'd rather we do a slow rush (our current way) and not let him scramble. Just stay in our lanes and actually push the pocket on him vs blitzing. That is our only chance. Even if the chance is ever so small.

Better contain him. He does his most damage outside the pocket. Great receiver speed as well.

Rotating spy might be the approach but it better be someone that can tackle a big fast guy in space

If we don't pull something out of a hat offensively it's going to look like their win over OU.

Speaking of OU , Mateer and Marcel look like almost the same player now. Poor timing, not seeing open receivers , missing routine throws and , hesitates/scramble/gets sacked.

They bring pressure and end up going too far upfield. It doesn't matter.

When we blitz, the defense has actually done a great job of forcing opponents QB's into making mistakes.

IDK why we don't blitz more often. Sometimes it feels like we go an entire half with maybe 1 or 2; but I don't know what the actual number is.

I think the lack of blitz packages being mixed in is why we have such a low ranking in QB sacks.

The only parallel I see this weekend is the Auburn game in 2014. We get crushed at Alabama and return to Kyle where we just beat ULM. We then head to Auburn who is ranked #3 and somehow get the win. I see almost no chance this weekend as I saw no chance in 2014. That's about all I got. One difference is the 2014 team did have some decent moments. We've had none this year.

We aren't great in coverage, so might as well blitz
