I think a lot of people on this thread are overreacting.

Everyone has a life outside of their job, no matter how well or poorly the job is going.

The kid is under a ton of stress. Taking a few minutes to hang out with friends and do something silly is not a big deal

That's part of the reason he's a head case. He clearly noticed all the criticism even prior to the season starting.

You just can't do that. You have to ignore it and stay away from it. Get off SM.

Figure it out? He's 8 games into year ****ing 4. He's figured out everything he's going to figure out.

Looking at it from Reed's perspective...

This coaching staff has not been good for him. If he wants to improve, and they don't change the coaches, he should want to leave to get with a staff that will help him.

Regardless of whether or not Elko wants Reed back, it's all about the money now. And looking at Reed's tape from this year, I can't believe that the BMA (or whoever is funding NIL) will be willing to cough up starter level money for him next year. And I can't believe that any other group of moneybags backing another school will do it either.

The bottom line is Elko is losing the bye week by not switching to Hart and getting him ready to go.

We need to know what Hart can do before free agency opens up to see what kind of shopping we need to do.

Reed has had his opportunities to improve.

After this season, good luck Reed with your next NIL package and college team. He needs to be gone unless he wants to compete for starting job with far less NIL.

Imagine if NIL is simply pooled, and Elko gets to decide where to spend money... while I want the coach to be autonomous that could lead to reed coming back, but I suspect he goes elsewhere with a functioning offensive staff.

Why would Reed want to go anywhere else? He has a bird nest on the ground! Even if he's not guaranteed the starting job or significant NIL $$$. Stay here, QB1 goes down early and Reed steps in for the balance of the season…
