A coach winning 10 or more games, then only winning 4 or less, and then coming back to win 10 or more at the same school was Bill Snyder. And that was after he had left KSU and then come back.

Let's be real. If Elko loses out this season, there is no point of keeping him on. There is no chance that he'll recover from a season like that.

He's not going anywhere even if we lose every remaining game.

Can we just stop w/ these dumb threads??? We cannot afford to pay Jimbo AND Elko not to coach. At some point, we have to face the consequences of extending both coaches with these ridiculous guaranteed contracts.

Maybe if the school continues to keep paying too much for a severely substandard product, the powers that be might become embarrassed into realizing that stupid contracts are not a wise investment.

The point wasn't that we would or wouldn't payout another outrageous buyout. The point is that the football team is hopeless is long as Elko is retained as coach.

Let's be real: the odds of Elko winning a Natty at A&M are basically slim and none. I checked the history, and only two coaches in the modern era have had a losing record in Year 3 and still managed to win a conference title at that same school Dabo Swinney, who turned Clemson into a machine, and Pat Narduzzi at Pitt. That's it. Betting on Elko to join that club is betting against decades of evidence.

I seriously doubt that Trev lets Elko go at this point, so we just have to accept the fact that Ags will continue to be an also-ran in football for at least a few more years......

The only way things change is voting with your feet and your wallet. I keep saying it but if you don't, there is zero incentive to change things. 28 years and counting....longest championship drought in school history.

Facing the consequences of poor decisions IS having to retain the current coach. *****ing about it isn't going to change anything. That ship has sailed.

What a stupid stat. According to the internet, 1992 is the beginning of the modern college football era. In those 35 years only 21 different coaches have won a national championship

What's going to be even better is the replacement, which will be another head scratcher. And of course the spin of how we just hired the next Nick Saban that follows.

Soooo you are going to compare pre NIL years with current NIL years / pre transfer year rules with current transfers year rules?

Why don't you ask AI if that's a fair comparison

Then get back to us

I asked Chat if a 300 pound coach had ever won a National Championship and the answer was "No."

But, when I asked if "a horribly obese and grotesque coach has ever had a winning record after having a losing record" it taught me about a fella named Ralph "The Fridge" Friedgen of Maryland. It gave me hope. It also mentioned the grotesque Mark Mangino. So there are two cases of people who could care less about their own health who care enough about winning that it is actually possible.

Last season bought Elko one of these seasons. No matter how much you whine or cry or feel abused like when your gay uncle touched you, he ain't going anywhere yet
