Commented on Jordan Pugh's YouTube channel breaking down the game ….

"Love your film break down and commentary from an X's and O's perspective. You are absolutely correct on my son Isaiah. I am so upset with him and his effort in that game. He knows his effort was piss poor and feels embarrassed as he should. Told him he needs to show resiliency real quick and help his QB and team over these next tough few weeks of the season."

Great dad.

Pathetic that he has to call out his son's effort publicly.

He has been loafing, but isn't there someone we could hire to motivate players, get them ready for competition, and correct them when they don't play well?

Like a life coach, but for football.

He was probably getting tired of running routes and blocking only to have balls thrown at his feet or 4' over his head, when his number did get called. It's not good for team moral when your QB would miss earth if you threw him from a plane.

Sounds like dad needs some attention.

I was raised to handle situations man-to-man without all the drama.

Respect the family and keep others out of the mix.

Isiah Horton's father showed honesty and tough love by calling out his own son Isaiah's lack of effort. Hopefully, that will motivate Horton to step up in each of our remaining games.

you mean like a head football coach?

I guarantee you a very high percent of parents of players at that level are harder on their kids than the coaches are. Most just do it in private, but he didn't really jump his butt, he just wanted to acknowledge to fans/other future coaches that his son hasn't given up and will continue to work. I support it.

You mean the hundreds of thousands of dollars we're paying him isn't motivating him?

You don't say.....it's almost like we saw this coming 4 years ago.

Too bad the head coach doesn't see this across the board and bench many of the starters to make a point.

This. The whole "don't make family drama public" is the real melodrama.

I'm sure he is coaching/ talking to Marcel, im sure it's tough as a dad to see your son struggle. Seems like Horton has a good dad who holds him accountable, but not everyone goes the social media route.

It's like a time travel and we've gone back to the 80-90's. Beautiful to see

My coach and my father told me my senior year I was playing like a pooosay. Next game against McCullough I hit 7 3's in the second half. They were ranked 2 in the state and we were ranked 9. Beat them by double digits.

Sometimes a pat on the back on a hug doesn't get the job done.

We can discuss if he should or shouldn't have, but the message is 100% on target and positive, so kudos to dad for stepping up and agreeing with a difficult conclusion.

internet is so damn toxic, a dad agrees with the critics, says how his son needs to step up and do better, instead of excuses or yelling at the critics, and there are STILL people who will come on here and criticize that.

What a bunch of losers. Thanks, Mr. Horton, i know that wasn't easy.

p.s. I see Mr. Horton is a retired Army officer. Makes sense. Just a no-bulls&$! response by a real man who must be a damn fine father too.

Good to hear Isiah recognizing the poor effort and that he needs to improve it. I think there is a clear trend of demotivation from the receiver corps as Reed has gotten worse. It takes a very high motor and hunger to keep fighting every down when your main guy continues to underperform and let you down.

The play from the young guns (Gregory and TK) seems to be pushing a little more spark in the group. Hopefully Craver and Horton can both get back to performing at a high level as well.

I see this less as calling Isaiah out and more of talking openly about what Dad and Son have been talking about privately already.

Reed is struggling, but do you really think it's due to lack of effort? Everything I've seen is someone who really wants to make this work and can't figure out how to do so. You can't make playing time decisions based on whether you like someone, and it feels like Reed needs to sit. But I feel for the guy, and appreciate all that he's given to A&M.

How do you know?

Horton and Reed played together and it was a big reason Horton xfered to TAMU.

How do you know it isn't contagious?

Marcel didn't seem to have been to the weight room, or if so didn't add any muscle. I'm sure this was not for lack of effort either.

Bingo. He and the rest of the receivers knew early on that it was going to be a wasted season for them.

Dang. He actually said it....and said his son agreed.

Maybe he should return the money like Gomer did back in the day when his effort wasn't up to par.

Amen. Would I tell my son to give more effort? Yes, and sometimes I do. He's 12.

Would I do it in public or on the internet? No way.
