They've beaten one team with a winning record against the SEC this year.

It's early, but he looks like he may be an excellent coach.

The only conference win we have is a losing record

Let sip make the knee jerk reactions and decisions by emotion.

He seems like he could be a great hire currently, but we've seen this all before.

Will Stein will be in the NFL. Him and Marcus Freeman ultimately end up there.

Will Stein is 6-1 (4-1 SEC) in hist first season at Kentucky, and that includes road wins over Texas A&M, South Carolina, and Oklahoma. Kentucky is one of the four 1-loss SEC teams remaining. Stein is the leading candidate for the SEC Coach of the Year, but we should wait until after he completes his third season to determine how great he really is.

Well it takes at least 3 years for a coach to be successful according to Texags.

Well, according to me, it takes one good season and a premature contract extension before an epic meltdown.

The problem is until it actually happens, nobody really knows if he's the next big time coach. Usually only 1-2 per decade that come along.

In the last 50 years, 21 different HC's have won a MNC.

8 won more than once. And only 3 have more than 2 (Saban - 7, Osborne - 3, Meyer - 3)

How many knew Saban would be after his first year at Mich St? Or Meyer after 1st year at Utah?

2 time winners:
still active - Swinney, Smart, Carrol
retired - Erickson, Bowden

In the last 50 years there's one additional coach who has won more that 2 national championships. Bear Bryant won his 6th one in 1979.

Love Stein. From Kentucky but spent a lot of time in Texas.

Is it ironic for those who claim Elko doesn't have a lot of head coaching experience and are getting excited about a guy with 7 total games as a head coach.

He does seem great and it wasent the SEC but remember not too long ago Elko also took a basketball school to a great winning record in his first year as head coach.

If Elko doesn't work out, and they lure Stein here, as long as they don't give him an extension before he has won something, I don't care.

Only 9 won more than once. And only 5 have more than 2:

  • Osborne - 3
  • Meyer - 3

Yes, Will Stein has far exceeded expectations so far. I just want to see if he can continue to lead Kentucky to three consecutive winning SEC records of 5-4 or better.

The guy can recognize talent…
Obviously knows how to coach and motivate…

Who knows if he'll have a great W/L record over the long hail, It is Kentucky after all…

But he looks like he's got a serious Spurrier vibe…
