CFB has become professional. Loyalty should only be considered after a review of performance and contractual obligations. It's unfortunate, but that's the way it needs to be.

These kids should be treated no differently than any other professional athlete their age or younger in professional tennis, hockey, soccer, baseball, golf etc.

Professional football (NFL) was the only remaining professional league not to allow teenagers. Evidently those days are over, and everything that came with it.

Well, you figured it out, this is the reason why we suck. The coach casually referring to his players as kids.

This whole "we used to prepare them for the future!" thing is absurd- what do you think better prepares them for the future, a bunch of ag classes they'll never think about again or a 3 million dollar salary?

The kids...

Quote:

Mike Elko during the Aggie Football Hour: "We don't get many 'off' weeks. (The bye) is a good opportunity to reset some things."

"The kids get a little bit of a breather. We get to get out and do some recruiting, which is important this year because you're solidifying a class. ... There's also an important game at the end of the year, and we use the bye week to start preparing for that game a little bit."

So annoying when he keeps saying "kids". Yeah I guess they are, but they're paid professionals now and helping these coaches keep their jobs. He need to stop being so endearing to them.

He calls them kids because they are kids.

The other 137 D-1 coaches call them kids as well.

They are the same age as the young men who fought in the last several wars.

It's an unpleasant truth, but I agree. Players of the past were "kids". Unpaid athletes trying to balance between meeting the expectations of fans and trying to enjoy college.

If the numbers are accurate, Marcel is making more than the average Aggie currently enrolled will make in the first 20 years of their career. And that's just this year. With that kind of money on the line, you are no longer some young kid, having a good time for 4 years. With plenty of pros and cons, your career started the day you stepped on campus.

Doing so while having one of the worst qbr's in all of college football.

Yet they can fight in a war, get a job, purchase firearms, and vote. If they are kids, lets revoke these options.
