If Wiggins gets demoted at the end of the year, surely we'll be looking for both a WR coach and an offensive coordinator, right?

Coaches feel that neither have gotten a fair shake with the turnover on the OLine, Wideout, and this being first year.

Reed is gone. That's the easy decision. He will find a landing spot that both pays him and plays to his strengths.

Wiggins should be easy but he is important for recruiting so that's going to be a tougher conversation but my guess is he'll accept it because the paycheck we'll give him is more than most and ain't nobody going to be begging for him to become their new OC

I feel like this is the elephant in the room nobody is talking about. Wiggins is going to have to swallow a lot of pride to stay, and if he bounces we are guaranteed to take a recruiting hit.

I think this is a bad oversight by Elko.

There's zero doubt Wiggins loses OC duties. It's up to him to decide if he wants to stay a WR coach making really good money or bet on himself. And right now is have to imagine he likes his salary so he'll fall in line.

Wiggins ran the opening offensive script 2 plays exactly the same in both halves. The 2nd play was a Marcel qb counter with ****ty guards pulling. Do not put that on Marcel or anyone on the offense. It was lazy and bad.

Yeah, I'm not sure how the playcalling is to blame for Reed's throws.

At some point, we may have to admit that Reed is a quitter who quits under pressure and quit on his team when he got paid.

OC is a big part but not all.

If the QB is struggling to make decisions, eliminate the decision making. Go fast for two or three series, dont give the defense time to get set.

Elko lied when he said theyve tried everything. They haven't.

They have not tried the mach 3 tempo, even when the defense has been successful at getting off the field.

Reed, OC and QB coach all need to be gone. Anything else is Elko just telling A&M F* I don't have to even try.

We don't want to lose Wiggins. I don't think he's been that bad as the OC. Clearly he has had a few issues calling plays where an experienced OC might have done better. On the whole the plays are there and if we had an average D1 QB we'd probably be 5-1. As may have pointed out he is a phenomenal recruiter and WR coach. We need to find a way to retain him. I do think he loses the OC position just due to everything that has happened.

Lynch and Perry on the other hand are toast I think.

This is where I am. Yeah, Elko should have hired an experienced OC, but Wiggins has not been as bad as folks have made him out to be. He's scheming/coaching WRs open just fine.

If Reed were a 70% passer, this offense would look worlds different.

QB coach has a track record of mediocrity. Reed is just playing to that guy's coaching..

That will be the first change Elko makes.

I hate to say this, but we need to play fast tempo with an emphasis on the run. Should be 70/30 running/passing, using short quick passes as an extension of the run game. I'm ok with a deep ball every now and then, but Marcel shouldn't throw more than 20-25 times a game. I hate tempo, but we have to keep defenses off balance to help out the line and Marcel.

We went run heavy against Arky, and it worked. I don't know why we abandoned it so early against Mizzou. We were averaging about 3 yards a carry. While not impressive, we were moving forward, and at the least putting ourselves in a manageable 3rd down situation.

I think 25 throws is still too much. I'd say 20 is the absolute maximum. The problem is we get down early and then have to throw

If the Jimbo era didn't teach you that recruiting doesn't matter without competent coaching then you were out to lunch.
Wiggins has been abysmal this year. I don't care how bad Reed has been, it's the coaches job to fix it whether by coaching mechanics, etc or by scheming around the weaknesses.
I refuse to believe that Reed just suddenly got THAT bad. He's the same guy he's always been but with different coaches.
Wiggins has to go. A&M will always recruit well.

that first pass was the best dirt ball Reed has thrown and the right decision. Rogers doesn't even lay a finger on the DE who's running free and Craver slips. On top of that it was the most obvious play call. If he tries to actually complete the pass it's a pick 6.

The rest were trash.

I got to 25 IF we use quick passes (under 5 yards) as an extension of the run game. I don't want to see 25 passes more than 5 yards down the field.

And we weren't down early against Mizzou. At least not enough to need to pass. We gave up on the run way too early. There's no reason KJ shouldn't have gotten more touches.

How about something that garners a completion percentage higher than 54% for starters? Reed obviously can't make the throws that Wiggins is asking him to make, why keep beating a dead horse? Oh, and run the damn ball. Maybe try the option with Reed.

He can't make any throws at all. The option fails because he can't throw and nobody is afraid of him throwing. He's a 54% guy. That's just who he is. He needs to be taken out

How do we even KNOW that Wiggins truly wants to stick with Reed? Elko's arrogance and stubbornness likely would not allow Wiggins to make the change.

Doesnt help when Reed actually completes an easy pass for once (such as the one at 18:00 )....and the WRs cannot block anyone. Pathetic...they either have no heart in it or crap coaching
