Oh yes, I remember. I was at all of them except for the 84 one. I was watching from campus and everybody ran out over to Cain Hall after we won.

I was at the 86 game in Austin. Won that one too that was fun.

The 85 tu game in Kyle Field is one of my favorite games ever over the past 40 years.

We had pulled 50 yard line third deck, second row seats. And I still remember that play with Stafford being a little wuss cause it was so loud in there with his little hands on his hips and we almost got a penalty for it and then he finally took the snap and got pummeled if I remember correctly by Domingo Bryant.

That was just an awesome game and I can still remember the cotton flying. Definitely in my top five favorites at Kyle Field.

They'll probably have 8 sacks against us, I wouldn't spend too much time planning an 'it could happen' upset celebration. And just to properly calibrate your hopes, no quarterback on this team is coming in for Reed and making a notable impact. Reed is definitely a problem, but this team is bad, bad, bad at every position group on the field. There's a couple of individuals playing at a high level, but from a performance standpoint this may be the worst team since 77-0.

The 1979 game was my last as the 12th Man.

Actually the game took place on Dec 1st...

All the points of the game were in the 2nd quarter.

We only had 4 home games that year.

Of the 5 losses, The Ags lost to #14 BYU by 1 point (at Rice Stadium)
Lost to ranked Baylor by 10. (they finished the season ranked #14)
Lots the Tceh in Lubbock by 1 pt.
Lost to #5 Houston by 3 pts.
Lost to #8 Pig by 12.

Against non-ranked teams, Ags were 4-1.

Beat #6 Penn St on the road by 13.
Then beat #6 (at the time) tu by 6 to wrap up the season.

No bowl game for a 6-5 team back then.

A very tough season. Didn't play at Kyle Field until week 6. Finishing up the season 4-1, and winning that last game felt very good, especially as a huge underdog.

You never know what can happen...

These paid athletes don't care about a rivalry game. How many of them grew up wanting to be an Aggie or are just here for the paycheck

Heck we didn't play tu for almost half their lives. Unlike ou vs tu. That's the rivalry, we have lsu now.

No way. Sark seems to always call a better game than elko. I'm not sure we ever beat them with elko.

So are you living under a rock or just doing your typical responses based on emotion without any thinking? Mateer's play was very similar to Reed's in their losses to Michigan and Georgia. He was been a crap show all season. He did not do much this past Saturday as well but he stopped turning the ball over. And it was enough in a rivalry game where his team played hard the entire time. Oh wait, you said that does not happen in rivalry games when the team only was that one win to play for. I'm seeing a trend here with your posts on this thread. Strike outs.

My point was that that was a rivalry game between tu and ou. Crazy things happen in rivalry games.

I dont see that a&m vs tu would feel like a rivalry game for these players.
1) we didnt play them for over a decade, so these kids may not care. They didnt get to watch the aggie/longhorn game with families on thanksgiving.
2) they just want their money.
