Hard to tell how much we actually improved because Arky is terrible. That said, Reed was running a lot more which should ALWAYS be the game plan. He still missed a few wide open targets! Run the dang ball!

Well they expanded their HS stadium from 4a to 5a so there's that.

Offensively, we are going to have to continue running the ball like we started doing against Arkansas. Mizzou just held Florida, and Baugh, to 42 rushing yards. If Marcel doesn't continue to improve passing and they shut down our run it could get ugly.

Defensively, we aren't a good pass rushing team right now. Mizzou lit up Florida's secondary. The Ags secondary can't keep up with the kind of production. Saka and Jones have to hit Simmons. Also we need to win the turnover battle.

I concur with your assessment.

I will add that Mizzou was a bad matchup for Florida from the standpoint that Florida's glaring weakness is at corner and they killed Florida with the pass.

Florida had also been THE hot team going into that game and then they came back to the norm as well.

I fully expect Mizzou to have a bit of a letdown after how they destroyed Florida.

I just don't trust our defense to be able to stop the run well enough or for Marcel to make enough plays in the passing game for us to win and 3 points is not very much.

The only thing giving me any hope is we have kind of had their number in recent years.

And for the 1,000,001 time, that theory is false. Getting 50% of the bets on each side would be an impossible task and its very rare that any given game there is split action like that (excluding massive games like CFP Championship or Super Bowl, etc.)

The books try to set a "50/50 proposition" so that over the course of time (all games over the whole season will work out where the favorite covers half of the time. That is how they ensure a (at least) 5% profit.

On some games house wins. Missouri/Florida game yesterday was a massive win for them as everyone was on Florida. It was nowhere near a 50% split on bets.

On some games they lose. Ohio State/Iowa, everyone was on Ohio State.

But again, that does not matter. Its that over time, they just about always win.

Making a line close will not encourage bets on A&M - just the opposite.

The line is set and moves primarily based on which way the pro gamblers are betting. They are the heavy, smart bettors. It's not set or moving to try to ensure even money.

A respected pro bettor putting $25,000 on the underdog will move the line, even if hundreds of small bets are put on the favorite equaling that amount.
