Any advice on safe and cheap places to park in BR that are walkable to stadium?

I've never parked at LSU; either been on a bus, or stayed within walking distance, but here is the map:



The Hayfield and lots between the baseball park and levee are free and a reasonable walk, but getting out afterwards is a pain in the ass (our bus parked there when I went by bus). They have a couple of free lots around the Parker Coliseum, but that's where they had all the gun play last year. I think I'd stay away from that. Don't know much about the situation on the East side of campus.

You literally drive thru an area that feels very ghetto as you approach the stadium. Best of luck

Just do like Clark Griswold and ask some fine local citizens for help……

We went to the game in 1988 and paid an Exxon station across from campus $10 to let us park there during the game. The car was safe when we returned from our ass kicking.

I saw on another site somebody recommend McKinley Elementary for $20 and then a 10 min walk. On the opposite side from tailgaters so easier in and out. Can anybody confirm this plan?

With the parking map above,the last 2 times ive been down there or a game I have parked in 400 and 401, get there early enough and there is no charge but its first come first served.

Unless you want your car keyed with lsu slogans don't park near the stadium in baton rouge. It happened to multiple friends on trips to different games. It's not worth the risk.

Go to a nice hotel leave your car in the parking lot and uber to the stadium.

Last year we parked at the Mormon Church on Dalrymple Drive. It was kinda like parking at the churches in Northgate. There are several churches on Dalrymple. Reasonably priced. Check it out, probably a mile to the stadium, but a beautiful walk with huge oak trees. Seemed safe, we had no issues. I will agree that Baton Rouge bears scrutiny, but if you don't just be stupid you will be fine and have a great time.

Hopefully you're renting a car. And make sure it doesn't have Texas plates. You'll be glad you did.

Your local sports bar. Baton Rouge is a ****e hole. I'll never go back that God-forsaken place.

You'd be wise not to go.

There is an an entire row of churches along Dalrymple where you can park. Also, if you get there early enough, there is a free lot on campus by the LSU law school. There is also a hayfield on the other side of Alex Box.

Go to the game and have fun!

If you're going to drive in and park nearby, get 1 or 2 magnetic LSU bumper stickers, or some temporary LSU decal to cover up any Aggie related stickers.

Then just peel them off after the Aggies win & head out.

Always remember: LSU fans are easily startled, but they'll soon be back, and in greater numbers.

OP, you don't need to remove any A&M stickers.
