That was what I got when I rewatched the game with my non-expert eyes.

Come on coach Elko stop paying lip service to competition for playing time. That is not good enough.
I wish a buck was still silver, it was back, when the country was strong.

It's a huge difference in burst and twitch between Owens and then Morrow and Edwards. It's not close. Head scratcher why Owens sees the field so much.

he got the 1st TD of the game because he made a one on two defenders filling the non-existent gap the play originally called for.

Everyone looks electric by comparison.

But yes the young Guys need more time. Rueben needs playing time greatly reduced.

Owens isn't the guy. He may be tough, but he's totally incapable of sticking his foot in the ground and making a sharp cut. It takes hime 3-4 steps to change direction in the slightest.

Hate to say it but he did look really slow yesterday. Recall watching last night's game and thinking how much quicker those backs hit the hole and break through the LOS.

It has been pretty clear that Owens doesn't see the field or find the holes as well as Morrow, Baker and KJ. However, I think Coach Elko is leaving this up to Coach Taylor to make the call on our RB playing opportunities.

I'm sure they trust owen a lot more to pickup assignments and hit the correct hole.

Unlikely he gets benched, but minutes likely will decrease over time.

2.6 yard average for the team. Not a winning stat. Owen had the highest average at 3.5 ypc. I think ASU stacked the box to make Reed throw.

The hope for me is that Elko is putting the finishing touches on Edwards-pass protection, etc-to be THE guy in league play..Would love to see his work load increase this week to be ready to go off on LSU.

This is correct. He would be fifth if Bussey was playing the right position.
