I live in Folsom California. Mostly I catch Aggie games on ESPN/SEC.

I have seen at least 5 different brand commercials featuring the sips.

I have seen zero featuring the Ags. What gives?

WTH would A&M advertise in Commiefornia?
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

Its here too!

I've seen current and former sips on multiple commercials and not one Ag outside TAMU ads.

This is usually the norm when that specific team is playing. A&M commercials play during A&M games.

fwiw, I watched Ags on hulu today at home in Long Beach, Ca. I got couple of ads for A&M branded Debit/Credit cards. I was focused on the humor of the ad...didn't see which bank was repping the card.

ESiPN had to pay huge bucks to Snakey to force them into the conference and buy out that god awful cowTV contract. They're going to prop up that sip carcass every chance they get. How do you guys not get this?

You're not going to have much luck complaining If your landlord is Calif Dept of Corrections up in Folsom.

I was wondering who the hell that was for. Somebody is a really bad person, and it was authorized by someone else I've never heard of.

You know how to limit your market?
Stick a college team on your product.

Lol. Beto won the majority of native Texans in 2018's senate election while Ted Cruz won more out-of-state move-ins, dork.

Saw a Marriott Bonvoy ad that kept showing a dude wearing a sip jersey.

Expect to see a lot more of that this season.

Surprised Dr Pepper Fansville hasn't kissed tu's tail yet.

The Ram truck ad featuring tu is the worst. tu alums are more likely to be driving Teslas than Ram trucks.

OP are you mad that sips are being used in other commercials for various consumer products or are you mad that A&M isn't actively paying for air time in the California market?

If the former, there isn't much you can do there. A&M can't go to say Buffalo Wild Wings and tell them to put a fan in an Aggie shirt and I don't see any benefit to A&M paying for that level of marketing. We don't cater to the casual t-shirt fan. That BL commercial last year with the Sip and (ok I forget... rock band guy?)... That was a funny commercial and an attempt by BL to dig back from their egregious missteps. I'm fine for that to be Sip and not Aggie.

"Fansville" is VERY neutral. Yes they use folks as cameos but they have never represented any actual team.

If we're thinking of the same Bonvoy commercial, the have a lot of teams represented, and across multiple sports.

The real answer is Texas is in a major metro area with lots of celebrity alumni and HUGE fanbase of people that just moved to Austin and joined the bandwagon. I got to see it first hand Saturday, behind the curtain. They have WAY more money streams, wannabes, celebrities and eyeballs bc they are the biggest sport in a 2 million person area, add to that every town between DFW and South of San Antonio. Add to that our extensive traditions and customs you have to go to A&M to understand, and you realize we will never have that exposure or support. All you have to do to be a Longhorn is buy a shirt, throw up the horns and you're in. We can't compete with that.

Texas is a meme of a school. It's like a default for low iq people. We all know most of their fans are fake, but that doesn't matter for advertising purposes.

This is the same reason I meet Canadians that have never been to a football game rooting for tu in a bar in Dallas. It's all cosplay to them- even McConaughey is part of the gimmick- but low IQ people love seeing "hollywood actor on screen at big event everyone watching hurrrdurrrrrrrr"

Two years back the sip QB was in a series of Dr. Pepper Fansville commercials, and the stick was he didn't need any back-up.
