The coordinators aren't the problem
It's the over paid players starting with the QB and OL

Our Oline was bad.
Our running plays are to slow developing.
Our QB has some accuracy issues.
Secondary looked confused and out of position on a lot of plays.
Defense did not seal the edges in the first half.

So lots of stuff to work on but all you have to do is win!

To my eye there are still fundamental issues with the Offense rn. Defense didnt have a good game either. I dont think the oc olay calling was bad but there needs to be some upskilling ASAP before we get to lsu. That game could be bad.

I agree with you though. We can't count the rash of turnovers in every game. Our offense needs a lot of work starting with the O-line. The only back to have over 4 ypc was Edwards on 3 carries. That's not going to get it done.

The correct answer is it's too early to tell.

Offense didn't look very good, but did put up 34pts, or 27 if you don't count the one after muffed punt.

The defense didn't look very good, but did hold what we have been told is a dynamic offense to 20, and the defense itself scored 14.

Best thing is, we won the game convincingly, had only one penalty and it was a BS call, have plenty to work on, and the young RBs looked good on the very few carries they got in garbage time. Also, no major injuries.

I know this is nitpicky but we actually had two. Defensively, we lined up in the neutral zone (which I really didn't think we were) and false start on offense in response to them entering the neutral zone and us reacting. That being said, your point is well taken, two penalties that were questionable is pretty dang good compared to past years.

Edit: The defensive offside was declined so I guess that's why it is not recognized (makes sense I guess, it was supposedly committed and called but since it was declined and not penalized then it doesn't count).

The defense scored 14 of those points and we were handed another 13 pts on turnovers after the muffed punt, failed fake punt and another fumble. Offense had a few good plays but not nearly good enough to beat the better teams we will face this season. Let's hope it gets better quickly.

Offense is anemic. Can't run the ball. Playcalling is borderline stupid. This offense is going to get slammed against SEC competition. Reed has regressed. Can't hit a receiver on a crossing route on the run.

Offense is a problem. Defense had some struggles but some of that is because offense was anemic. OL and QB seems to be biggest concern. I don't think Reed will be drafted and that is a concern. He is not showing progress. I was hoping he would make the next step this year and good for us and good for him. But this mediocre QB play so far will not get better in SEC play. If he can't make the jump this year he will not next year. We are an elite QB away from making noise.
