Nothing will probably happen, but at least the conference is not giving any ground.

They are not kicking LSU out of the SEC. That's just called playing hard ball. I suspect we are going to see a very different tone from LSU going forward. It doesn't hurt that it looks like LSU doesn't need the hassle at this point.

wow, LSU better watch out. the SEC might make them put an asterisk beside whatever wins and championships they get this year. They mean BUSINESS!!

I'm not saying I disagree - I don't think anything will happen…but what are they playing hardball for? They lost the hearing, lsu was able to play the players and decided not to. What is the point of meeting? Is Sankey just being a little ***** like usual? I dislike Sankey and lsu, so it's a win/win for me.

So if l$u (<-- slur retired only briefly during NIL era) does indeed face no repercussions, we'd better take heed.

Here is my plan:
....Title I) Officiation. Whereas officiation decides most close games, and officiation is conventionally beyond reproach in terms of revising outcomes, and officiation-related bureaucracies are the most venal and poorly fortified:
........I.A) We shall compile an index of all serving officials in the professional, collegiate, and high school ranks across the country, and assess the intrinsic favorability towards Texas A&M of each official.
........I.B) For officials deemed to have low intrinsic favorability towards Texas A&M, upon judgment of appointed officers of the Athletic Department, we shall assess relative leverage towards improving favorability in terms of:
............I.B.1) means of positive reinforncement ("carrot"), such as gifts, future campaign contributions, prepaid health insurance coverage, website memberships, etc.
............I.B.2) means of negative reinforncement ("stick"), such as assistance in lawsuits regarding property disputes, sharing of any discovered financial information with the IRS, etc.
............I.B.3) means of targeted education ("the pun") regarding categories of rules where Texas A&M is historically over-penalized
............I.B.4) means of suppressing remedies through conventional means ("kompromat"), such as compromising video footage, online chat records, etc.

They're not going to do anything. They're posturing to try and scare LSU because LSU had the gall to stand up to them. Nothing more.

The SEC lost that hearing, but LSU knows SEC will eventually win. That is why they "decided" not to roster the players.

How is putting expulsion to a vote being a *****? SDS is as bad as TDS for some of you.

LSU is going to back down. Thats what will happen here.

Nothing is gonna happen right now. Both SEC and LSU will point to the judge's ruling in Baton Rouge that said they could not be punished.

This will be kicked down the road until after a ruling is made in the federal lawsuit filed by the SEC against LSU, Kiffin, et al.

I would imagine probation would be discussed as in post-season bans, fines, etc.....

Again, LSU response will be to point to the Baton Rouge judge ruling and that they did not roster those players-YET They will also say Kiffin's comments were in the heat of the moment, emotions were high, etc.... We all say things in the heat of the moment that we wish we could take back. blah, blah blah

Oh, I'm not saying Sankey is a ***** because of expulsion.

I just think Sankey is a ***** because he ****ed us by letting the sips in and has let the SEC fall behind the big 10.

2026-2027... looking back 40 years from now.

SMU wins the CFP NC and LSU receives the death penalty.

There would be a Taylor Sherridan series 6 months later.

lsu is a completely trash program. Their AD after Woodward was a long time dept. employee who had swept domestic abuse Title IX issues under the rug for football players.

As well, remember their antics in firing Brian Kelly. They publicly fired Kelly, then said Woodward didn't have the authority to do so and also that Kelly had not been fired and due to him not showing up and doing his job (after he had been fired) they were going to fire him FOR CAUSE and void his buyout. Then when Kelly threatened to sue they tried to do a lump sum heavily discounted buyout, only after Kelly told them not good enough and filed the lawsuit did lsu agree to pay him what was owed.

Total trash program, but nothing will happen, they will be in the SEC and minimal to no penalties or sanctions.

The SEC needs to be able to make rules and have members fall in line. Everyone else has done that but LSU. LSU has not only challenged the ruling but there is evidence that they initiated the process by coaching the "NFL" players to bring lawsuits. Sankey's comments are intended to send a message.

They lost a hearing in Louisiana state court. Everyone with two brain cells knows why they'd file in state court instead of federal for what is obviously an interstate issue. They cooked that up to test the waters and challenge conference leadership and authority. The conference is telling them in no uncertain terms that they are poking a bear that will absolutely maul their ass if they keep it up. They can home cook with judges when it comes to keeping their players' criminal records clean, but they'd better not dare try that against the conference.

I think Kiffin is done. He'll be the sacrifice to stay in the SEC. You don't conspire with your former players to sue the conference and the commissioner without consequences. SEC is about to take belt to ass

This will be a "No I'm the boss" meeting.

I agree nothing will come of it, and it's mostly being done for appearances.

Hopefully. No they're not going to get expelled. But a nice long probation with playoff/bowl disqualification will do nicely.

Kiffin is just acting like a bratty little b**ch because 1) that's who he is and 2) that trash ass fan base just eats it up

And the governor enable him. I think they will take an unofficial vote to show that the votes are there, then give them two options. Option A will be a long list of penalties and Option B will be to take an official vote

One has to wonder how mad the NFL is at Lanes actions. The owners don't want to open up a situation where they are having to bid against colleges for backups and roster depth guys. if LSU continues to push the envelope the NFL may just start paying 18 year olds to bypass college all together. The SEC and college football doesn't want that. Plenty of kids at a place like IMG academy that could just become an NFL farm system.

I think its something like this as well. Kiffin has to be reined in. I also think this has as much to do with Kiffin "recruiting" these guys (allegedly) to sue as anything else - it's the type of thing Death Penalties were made of back in the day.

I'm also guessing this is all taking place publicly because LSU is being defiant all the way to the top. Usually when a coach goes rogue, the AD/president step in and have closed door fixes with the SEC. That clearly hasn't happened here.

No thanks sleepy joe.

And it should be noted, it would take federal legislation to do that. So if you're going to pass federal legislation, you might as well do something that makes 1 million times more sense.

Regardless of whether or not this expulsion vote actually comes to fruition, you don't publicly amend your lawsuit and mention the expulsion meeting unless you have the votes to kick them out. Its going to take a whole lot of contrition on the part of LSU to mend fences.

Reading LSU fans' response to these events is quite entertaining. They can't even comprehend how they got here and are having fantasies about going independent or joining the Big 10. Trailer park delusions.

They don't have the academics to join the big 10. They aren't an AAU school.

I wouldnt be surprised if they vote to do so. No other school wants to be part of what LSU is attempting to create. The conference doesn't not want their image shat on.

If this were just posturing - why would the conference schedule a vote for Thursday?

It would only hurt their credibility even more if they hold the vote then decide to do nothing. If they planned on doing nothing, they'd just let this vanish into nothing instead of schedule a vote for possible expulsion.
