Oregon will not drop below us, they will move Boise up above us as the best 1-loss team.

Lsu and miami move up oregon and notre dame should drop a few. We will probably be 9.

Oregon doesn't deserve to be top 5 after struggling with an unranked group of 6 team, but I wouldn't trust the media to rank them fairly.

I thought we played a pretty good game with some kinks to be worked out for sure. Count me as one that believes this week's game against Arizona State will be a lot better barometer and us being a 14 pt favorite is too much . I might go with 7 but still wouldn't be very comfortable .

LSU looked dominant. Michigan looked terrible. Everyone else did pretty much what they were supposed to do.

Michigan should drop to 25.01

I didn't say rankings don't matter. I said they don't matter at this point . It starts to sort itself out by maybe mid-October and then it matters .

They DO matter to recruits, image, perception, and to TV, and most certainly when the CFP committee votes in October. If you think being unranked in September is no different than being ranked #8, then i dont know what to tell ya.

They change week to week with matchups and wins and losses along the way. Without looking where was eventual national champion Indiana ranked last year after week 1?

While we're at it, Penn St was ranked # 2 after week 1. What was their season and conference record and final ranking last year? Ditto for LSU. No one really knows how teams are going to come together especially now with all the portal movement from season to season. It takes 5-6 weeks + to begin to figure out which teams may be contenders.

I get what you are saying, but when all is said and done, Oregon may have played the second best team of all the top 25, after ole Miss playing Louisville

Looks like we dropped 2 spots to #10 in AP while LSU jumped up 3 spots. Kinda wild to go down in ranking when we held an opponent to 0 points and had one of the best defensive displays of any top 25 team.

Oh, and we also hung 50 points on the board, too.

Yes, it is Week 2 but it's also crap how teams like LSU get more love than they deserve.

As soon as I saw the Clemson game and the old piss game against Louisville, I figured both LSU and old piss would jump us and of course, when that happens, that means we automatically drop 2

So I wasn't surprised I was actually expecting it
