Because it's absolutely senile to embarrass the country club you've agreed to be a part of (including their rules) for 2 dudes that couldn't even make an NFL practice squad. It's beyond LSU stupid, which is hard to do. It's Simple Jack stupid.

There is 1 program in the country doing this. Using pro players is a step too far. It was equally bad when Bama did it in basketball. It is equally bad the LSU is doing it in women's soccer.

If you actually respect and hope for the best for college sports and what it offers to improving young people's lives, then you don't do everything you can to burn the sport down and make it complete anarchy.

College football is perilously close to turning the best sport on the planet into a version of XFL, USFL, arena football. If it only turns into a version of minor league football then the popularity will go the route of minor league baseball.

Every president in the SEC voted to draw the line here including LSU's, and then Lane Kiffin decided he's was bigger than the sport.

I don't want NFL players returning to play college football. Simple as that.

If we're going down this path, then every former player with eligibility remaining should be treated the same. A
third-year junior leaves, spends a year in the NFL, gets cut, and returns to college for his final, 5th year.

And once we erase that line, the next argument will be that the five-year eligibility clock is unfair too. Why shouldn't someone return after playing six years in the NFL? You get 5 years of play, regardless of the clock!

College players playing against college players is what it should be.

From the very beginning of all this, When Sankey made it clear, he was not liking what was taking place. I knew LSU and Lane were screwed.
