We haven't won a conference title in football since I was a freshman, I'm 46 years old now. Auburn's resume is a hell of a lot better than ours in the last 28 years so his statement is really more of an insult to Auburn. They also got screwed out of playing for another national title when they were undefeated with a hell of a team. We should be so lucky to have had their success.
Klatt is just another ******* talking head that knows how to jerk our chain. He does it for the same reason others have.

Joel Klatt is right. We have not posted back-to-back 10+ win seasons since 1991-1994. The closest we came to achieving that feat was when we went 11-2 (6-2 SEC) in 2012 and then 9-4 (4-4 SEC) in 2013. Hopefully, we change this trend by winning at least 10 games this year.
Auburn has won 2 national championships in 1957 and 2010 since we won our last national championship in 1939 and the SEC 3 times in 1993, 2004, and 2010 since we won the Big 12 in 1998. However, Auburn has not won more than 6 games since finishing 9-4 (5-3 SEC), and they have posted 5 consecutive losing seasons for the first time since 1946-1950.

We made the playoffs last year. In only Elko's 2nd season. It's clear Elko is doing things the right way, is extremely intelligent and will have continued success.
A&M has one of the best fan bases in all the nation. We have the means to support Elko and this team in the landscape that is now present.
None of the above in the present time aligns with Klatt's popcorn statement.

We are a historically average team with brief flashes of greatness every now and then. Elko has the potential to change that, but until he does, Klatt's statement is correct.
What did he say that was inaccurate? Without maroon colored glasses, this team is exactly what he said it is. Hell, our nickname is Texas 8-4 for a reason

You did not address any of my specific statements about the PRESENT. Nothing from Elko screams potential in the present time or his history at A&M as DC or head coach. It shows results.
The present is all that matters at this time. Our history only matters with regards to our support as far as administration to Elko. That is if we did not provide the proper support which has occurred at times to past coaches from A&M that had success but it was limited bc of lack of support. I do not see that lack of support now.
We can agree to disagree on our history. What we gained and experienced from our history are clearly different. That's fine. No reason to waste time trying to see it from each others view bc it is a waste.
