If you weren't there you cannot imagine how loud that game was, and that was with a tacklebox and horseshoe stadium. It was joy and PAIN rolled into one night. (and a few days later)
tu QB could not hear or call snaps loud enough all night.
The refs told us we had to be quiet, so the millisecond the ball was snapped ... we roared and the QB fumbled.
Awesome, awesome game!
In my 4 years we never lost to tu.
That's the thing I don't get. That's the loudest stadium I've ever been for any game, college or pro. Yet it was not a full bowl and not near the capacity it is now.
Doesn't make sense to me. I'll never forget that game, not because we won but because of the deafening sound.
That was probably back when people on the former student side actually yelled. Those days are long gone.
This. The old blue hairs weren't sitting on their hands the whole game, stuffing their faces with overpriced food and ignoring the game to BS with their buddies. Stuff that's more the rule than the exception now
