Not a fan of Campbell and always knew he was in this for making sure tech had a seat at the table and not to "save college football"

Always be wary of those who suddenly show up advocating for the "greater good" of something, because usually the real "greater good" they are after is for themselves

Can't say I blame him for wanting to make sure his Alma mater has a seat at the table. Especially if he has the means.

Just think it's hilarious that he may be the tipping point as to why they ultimately won't

Thanks for sharing OP.

There are no shortage of opinions about Campbell. I will say I'm getting increasingly tired of these, especially those like Amanda Atwell's "hot takes" about all things Campbell and Texas Tech

There is so much hyperbole about Campbell right now on Twitter media. A lot of spewing personal feelings

What's the deal with all the question marks at the end of statement sentences in that article? Someone didn't proof read their AI output before publishing?

Me watching the rest of the country find out what those of us in Texas have known/felt about a tech for decades:

Are we sure Cody wanted the judge to grant the injunction? Sure it helps his team win this year but i'm starting to feel the narrative that Sorsby has them by the balls is in the lead here.

Cody/Tech have no choice now but to play him, if the judge hadn't granted it couldn't they have just said "this was the right decision, kid made a mistake and he won't play for us", even tried to get the money they paid him. Surely there was something in their "agreement" about conduct.

Is there any evidence that Tech/Cody helped Sorsby out with this case that granted the injunction or was it all just Sorsby and his own family?

Same holds true for any team with a fanbase (and donor base) that actually gives a damn.
TxTech didn't do anything different than any other team (with the means) would also be trying to do.

People are just seemingly annoyed that it's coming from a place like TxTech.
If it was Ohio St pulling all the same crap, people would see it as business as usual.

I'd then sculpt another head and put Tennessee t shirt fans

Good question. Yes I think there's plenty of evidence which indicates campbell supports sorsby playing.

Campbell is the chairman of the BoR for tech. Tech's university president made a statement supporting Sorsby and effectively made Sorsby sound like he's a victim of a mental disorder / addiction and should not have to face the consequences of "his addiction." Given Campbell is the chairman of the BoR AND is one of their biggest boosters - I can't imagine the president would've made this statement without support from Campbell. In fact I'd go so far to say that Campbell probably pushed the university president to make this statement.

https://www.ttu.edu/president/communications/2026/2026-05-26-statement-from-president-schovanec.php

Also just earlier this week Campbell said himself he's happy to pay Sorsby the NIL dollars they offered him so long as he's eligible, even if he misses the first 2 games. How kind of him.

I appreciate you're not wanting to jump to conclusions, but yes all evidence suggests Campbell doesn't care about Sorsby's gambling and just wants tech to win at all costs.

Hard evidence? Not likely.

But, I'd wager that he had one of his offshore accounts stroke a check to the FW judge to come out of retirement and hear the case. Heck, there's probably a good chance of CC and this judge attending the same church in FW.

Speaking of wagers, there's a certain someone who's planning on wearing bass boat black this fall that would probably take my wager :-)

Campbell has been taking victory laps on social media since Monday, it's safe to assume he's behind Sorsby 100%

Meanwhile, Ted Cruz is now telling folks his proposed bill would prevent a debacle like this one …

I wonder if Campbell is close to Phil Knight in giving to Oregon. Because Knight has given close to $1 billion and I don't think that includes the latest gift to their Health Sciences University program.

Tech absolutely has the right to decide not to play - players get kicked off teams all the time a violation of team rules if it is egregious. No court can dictate who a school decides to allow to play. The NCAA just can't block his playing. Tech clearly wanted to win this appeal and will play him every and any snap they deem that he will increase their chances of winning. They don't get a pass for this decision because they ultimately determine who steps in the field

I don't think posters understand the term "trashy."

Ohio State fans are trashy, especially in Columbus. Think of your local mechanic, drunk off a dozen boilermakers, looking to fight someone smaller, and then multiply that times 100,000. Welcome to the Horseshoe.

Tech fans are trashy because they have raider rash, throw tortillas, are the embodiment of pay for play, and don't even pretend to care about the educational aspect of what universities are supposed to espouse.

sips, by their very definition, embody the complete opposite stereotype of "trashy." They are the polar extreme to trashy- uptight, buttoned up, holier-than-thou, wannabe refined, foppish, intolerable prissy men. The term "sip" refers to them sipping tea...

there's varying types of trashy. a couple of examples (even though there are many):

- trashy with a violent lean....tatted up, mullets flowing, piss drunk, throwing full beers at people and ready to get belligerent....

- trashy with a lazy lean....spoiled, entitled, and whining to the point of eventual tantrums like infants whenever they don't get what they want....but nobody pays much attention to the tantrums because (just like the infant) they're also harmless....

i'll let y'all decide which of those is more like the nuts, versus which is more like the 'sips.

Here you will see why Cody Campbell has no intention of disciplining Sorsby.

Your Mom And Them
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Watching that video I came away with three things:

1) Cody Campbell is all about what's best for Tech and winning, not what's best for the kid.

2) His attitude is that if this happened at another school like LSU (which he specifically named) then everybody would just sweep it under the rug because it's LSU and that's what they do. But, because Tech is a "disruptor" to the college football pecking order, they must be knocked down and put in their place.

3) He constantly compared the current Tech situation to other situations at other programs. They are playing within the system that's been approved.

All of this to say that Tech is not about accountability at all....unless your Craig James's son.

Tech/ Campbell response to the call for schools banning them from schedule makes it obvious that this all about winning and not at all related to protecting smaller school rights. And take it as far as suing CFP / B12 to avoid exclusion.

Oddest thing about Campbell's crusade is the current model is the only way Tech is relevant on a national scale - any pullback on NIL for athletes is going to hurt Tech. Not help

bullsh*t, you can build a winner anywhere if they're willing/able to hire (and keep) the right people, and commit sufficient resources consistently.
