The NCAA is just 4 letters. It has zero power. IMO… it's all open now, Elko needs to just do whatever he wants as long as it = winning. First order of business; go bring Le'veon Moss back… at this point let's just push all the chips to the middle of the table, screw whatever anyone thinks and we'll get a judge to back it up. Prescience has been set, there are No More Rules.

Why not ... watch the NFL cut lists ... reach out to the best UFL guys ... screw eligibility and roster limits ... have friendly judge on speed dial, lol

Exactly. And if the NCAA issues an opinion just file an injunction and go off of this precedence. This judges decision basically means a player can play under any circumstance if it effects his mental health in a negative way not being able to play..

We might as well take full advantage of this loophole. Other teams will…

The key is to get a judge that is "pro" that particular school. Rinse and repeat

Literally no reason to follow any NCAA rules at this point.

did you feel the same way when JFF was getting paid when it was illegal and he gave the middle finger to the NCAA?

The NCAA rules followed during JFF days. They were selectively enforced. The took either 1 quarte or one half of JFF career when he had to sit.

I think the NCAA just needs to create a clause that if an opponent goes around the NCAA to break a rule in place that everybody agreed to, that you can drop that opponent from your schedule without penalty. Let the teams themselves keep each other accountable.

**** it. Let's bring back some NFL players who are long in the tooth for the NFL but would still dominate in college. No eligibility left? Pffff. That's so yesterday's problem. We can just buy a judge now!

You don't think there's a difference between signing stuff, something that is legal today, and gambling on your own team?

Really?

Really?

If I'm the NCAA I say that if he steps on the field then Tech forfeits that game. The idea that an outside judge can just overrule the NCAA on player conduct is incredible

A Lubbock judge lol. Everyone thought NIL was a good idea when it was about an ambitious kid making some cash from a YouTube channel but it immediately went south and this is the ultimate college football nail in the coffin.

I anticipate ADs doing something to prevent this from playing out.

Who? That man is persona non grata in my mind. He can bring disgrace to himself all he wants … and he's done so to the nth degree. But when you bring shame to the University, I'm done with you. He is nothing but a distant bad memory for me. An asterisk who just happened to win the Heisman.

The Lubbock judge recused himself….this ruling came from a Fort Worth judge

as always Pate on point

Eisen with great analogues, "its as if when grounding my kids by taking their phones away, they were to file an injunction with the reasoning of 'This harms my ability to scroll and to text my friends'"

Retired judge to be precise.

No idea why he thinks that court has jurisdiction over this matter.

It's going to take something like that for there to be any real enforcement

It would be awesome if the big12 presidents came out and said we aren't playing tech this season if they play sorsby

Since the rule book got blown up, which programs will be first to begin using a fully funded HgH program as a sales pitch, while giving the NCAA the finger?

Some people on here acted like the radical recent changes in college football (NIL and unrestricted transfers) were no big deal. "Payers have been paid all along", they said. Well, this sorry episode demonstrates convincingly that when money is all that matters, then money is also a blunt instrument, a weapon to be used to circumvent everything, including the rule of law. The ultimate outcome is ultimately anarchy and disaster.

I sincerely and fully wish that Texas A&M would abandon football altogether. It's a disgusting, nasty business that demeans the diploma hanging on my wall.

Haha, you truly don't get it. I'm the one who understands the true value in my diploma, but if you want to support a lawless carnival that literally has no connection to Texas A&M University and call that college football, then you're lost, man. LOST.

That is what I think should happen... all the injunction means is that Sorsby can't be stopped from playing by the NCAA, it does not change his NCAA eligibility status. In the eyes of the NCAA, Sorsby is still ineligible due to gambling. If an ineligible player plays on any team that team forfeits the game. All the NCAA has to do is inform Tech that they will forfeit any game in which they play an ineligible player.

i would bet the judge's interpretation of his order would include this being enjoined.

so if ncaa did this, they'd be back to the same judge that would either say it was already included in the order or amend it to make it included.

Johnny was handed a suspension by the NCAA. He served it and we didn't sue.

At that point its member institution vs NCAA and I wonder if the NCAA could seek federal intervention

I would think so because at that point it would be a state-run organization vs a non-profit organization but who knows if they will want to get involved.
