Except that Tarleton is positioned to be the A&M system member to next transition to FBS status.

That's why they scheduled Tech, TCU, New Mexico State, Baylor and Army. And scheduled A&M (which I believe has been cancelled due to other scheduling issues from one of the schools).

I agree. I am no longer worried about tu and LSU and Bama and Georgia and nd. All of my focus is now on Tarleton St.

Maybe John Tarleton A&M would be appropriate, and market the relationship with James Rudder, who graduated from there before enrolling at A&M College, and then Rudder coached football there.

Not just athletics, the entire university. DFW kids are flocking there. Easy 65 mile drive from DFW

You can buy alcohol in Stephenville now. No longer have to drive to Proctor.

Good for Tarleton, but there's obvious bias here with them being an A&M system school. Meanwhile other non-rival schools in this state will get trashed simply for being brought up. Kinda strange and pathetic.

This would be a lawyer's dream. I suspect that its out of respect for the donor. My diploma does say "a part of the Texas A&M System".

As someone mostly said above, the land was given to the school under condition of it keeping the name. Change the name and the land goes back to the Tarleton family.

I THOUGHT one of the other conditions was that Erath County remain a dry county but that isn't so anymore so who knows….

The four star QB was 5 of 15 passing at Arizona last year. Was an 88 on 247 out of HS and 85 as a transfer. Both Three stars.

He had a large farm on the edge of Stephenville. He had the foresight to know thar that the area needed higher education.

Actually the conference name Tarleton as co-champs because acu lost to another team in conference.
