Hard to believe Indiana is National Champions in football. Hard to say if it gives me hope we can finally win or is just that much more depressing that we haven't done it.

Congratulations to No. 1 Indiana for controlling No. 10 Miami from start to finish to win their first ever national championship. Indiana outscored No. 9 Alabama, No. 5 Oregon, and No. 10 Miami by a combined 121-46 in 3 playoff games to become the first 16-0 (9-0 Big 10) national champion since 1894 yale. I noticed several other trends:

1. Indiana snapped Miami's 7-game winning streak to drop them to 13-3 (6-2 ACC).

2. Indiana is 27-2 (17-1 Big 10) under Curt Cignetti after going 9-27 (3-24 Big 10) in Tom Allen's last 3 seasons from 2021-2023.

3. A Big 10 team wins the CFP National Championship for the 3rd year in a row. Indiana joins 2023 Michigan and 2024 Ohio State.

4. Mario Cristobal drops to 3-1 in playoff games.

Only b/c KSU starting winning in 1989.. KSU was about to shut down their football program before they hired Snyder in 1988 (for the 1989 season). SI famously called K-State "America's most hapless Team"

Imagine Snyder and RC switch places. A&M would have at least 2 more MNC and KSU might not have a football team anymore.
