First penalty of the night is called in the 4th quarter on an irrelevant defensive hold against Miami on Ohio State's touchdown. Penalty declined.

I wish he and his crew would have swallowed the whistles when A&M played Auburn. They prolonged the game about half an hour, calling 23 penalties for close to 200 yards.

They can't screw over any team that isn't the sips, Georgia or bama, so they don't care.

He was making sure that 4th down would be a first.

So he/they suck when they throw flags and suck when they don't, right?

OK, got it.

If you remember. Our game against Auburn was the week after they played OU and there were several bad calls against Auburn.

So yes. There was clearly an agenda the day we played them.

This playoffs it seems they've agreed to let holds go unless it appears egregious.

Yep. Let me break it down in really simple terms for you…. There are these things in football called rules. For example, no late hits are allowed after a whistle, or an offensive player is not allowed to grab a defensive player to keep him from getting to the ball carrier to make a tackle (holding)…. You see, the refs job is to enforce those rules, and the refs generally suck at their jobs when they DONT throw flags during plays where those penalties actually do occur AND when they DO throw flags during plays where those penalties are borderline or completely not present.

I used to officiate. Just call the ones that are obvious and everyone will be happy

I never officiated but agree, this is the ticket. Nobody wants to watch a game with a flag every play…the sip game yesterday or our Auburn game. Those games invariably become rife with makeup calls that destroy the integrity of the game.

But they don't want to see a defensive end in a choke hold with the ref looking right at it with no glad either. It's the mark of a bad crew to have the disparity last night's crew demonstrated when compared to the hack job they did in our Auburn game.

How'd that crew earn a playoff game?
