CONFERENCE
1. The top 2 play for the conference championship.
2. The winner is the Conference Champion (#1)

PLAYOFFS
1. The top 12 make it to the playoffs.
2. The winner is the National Champion (#1)

Other than that... meh.

Does anyone actually look at the final polls and use that as a measuring stick of how good your team was? We lost our last two games, and had a couple of nice notable wins this season against ND and USC. Who cares how they rack and stack the teams in a final poll.
